Probably a bit too specialist to go hot but this is a great tip if you have a Samsung colour laser (Models: CLP-310, CLP-315, CLX3170 or CLX-3175).

These are excellent, compact printers but a set of four replacement toners from most retailers will come to more than £160. However, Amazon do all four in a set for £107.25 delivered (haven't seen the set anywhere else; claimed RRP £183.97). Still not cheap but a saving of over £50 every time. Makes these genuine Samsung toners cheaper than the aftermarket refills (when you can find them) and removes the risk of printer damage from leaky refills.

If you use them up at different rates you can still buy singles from time to time to even it out.

Hope this does someone a favour.

YOU NEED TO BUY A ........BIZHUB!!

Just out of interest, has anyone used the "new" compatible ones that are listed on ebay for around the £20 mark for a set of 4?

I've only used official ones before, but the non OEM versions seem about 1/5 the price.

thanks

Just checked ebay and it seems to be more expensive than this for 'compatibles' - around £40 for a single colour or £120 upwards for a set. I'd want to save a lot to risk compatibles from unknown sources.

i think most of the samsung printers are made by xerox.
you can easily re-program and use dell/xerox toners on them.

Really? And if so are the Dell/Xerox toners cheaper? Can you provide an example? What is required to 're-program' them?

I have just bought a full set (B Y C M) none OME plus one extra Black and bought them on that biding site and most expensive was £21 and cheapest was £7 but not buying them at the same time the postage was £4.95 each but . .but still was happy with the price and for resetting the toners and Image drum ( this has to be reset when it reaches xxxx's of images) just google or YouTube and you will find replacement chips or a resetting tools but you would only need this if you was refilling the toners using the Empty ones in your printer. The none OME's come already re-chiped ready to use.. . I hope this is of help

( as a matter of interest I saw a 510 for sale in Italy I bidded low and won but I told the seller just send me the me toners and image drum which he did )

Sorry to sound dumb, but why are these cartridges so expensive? oO
Do you get a lot more pages out of them compared to a bog standard inkjet etc?

isnt it cheaper to just buy a new printer at £100 a set

This is a LASER COLOUR Printer and not a Inkjet Printer. The Price is definately good and i myself have a CLX-3175N printer and in the past two years have only spent a further £30 in buying a high yield Black tonner. My investment of just £180 in a colour networked laser printer/scanner has really paid off.

laser printers are far better quality and the carts last alot longer.....i have a mono samsung and ive printed approx 8000-10000 pages on the starter cart (was supposed to be 1000) and so far about 4000 pages and its still 2/3 full...cart replacement for mine was about £45, genuine ones are about £70 though, alot cheaper than inkjets.....you are lucky to get >300 pages with inkjet cart nowadays

lasers are more reliable than inkjets too

urgh quite honestly the worst copiers/printers i've ever had the misfortune to work with, we had a mix of Ricoh and Bizhubs and the one that broke every week without fail or jammed or didn't work at all for no apparent reason was the bizhub - nasty avoid

Something like this:

These are the ones for my samsung Colour Laser for about £22 the set inc postage. I've never tried these ones, but would like to know if others have successfully used cheap ones like these.

I just refill my lazer printer cartridge much cheaper

You just have to do a little research I am sure if the retailer wants to stay in business he's not going sell rubbish (well not for long) just take the time and look at he's feedback and you are worried ask ask him anyway google? samsung chip.
With Internet buying you have to be on the right Site at the right time

Got a Samsung CLP-310 for the computer suite at one of my schools. worst discision ever. These toners don't last 50% what they claim. Am getting about 400 hundred pages from the colour set before they claim they are empty. Hell, even printing a testpage claims 1% lol.
The black toner is better, but that just means when I buy a set I just add the black to thr mountain of spares.
This is just a warning incase someone decides to buy a printer to match these toners :-)

My company used to buy refills from a respected stationer for our HP lasers. Seemed to work fine but over time quite a few of the printers were wrecked as the cartridges leaked excess toner onto the drum. I'd be hesitant to go for refills for this reason.

Not my experience but does depend what you are using it for. Quoted pages is usually based on fairly low coverage of text. If you are doing lots of pictures, diagrams, etc with high coverage (as a school may well do) then it will be far fewer pages. This printer is for light, home use really - wouldn't be recommended for a commercial office or school. Bear in mind also that the initial cartridges are only part filled.

Hi everyone. This is a good deal. Just to let everyone know that amazon always sell this rainbow toner pack for this amount. Bye x

That's 'about right' for the price
- the Samsung lasers are relatively cheap & they want to make their money off selling you supplies.

BTW when you buy a new printer they supposedly have far less toner in the cartridges

Supposedly you get about 100 pages, but I've squeezed 250 full colour photos & 500 B&W sheets.

Whilst it's reporting 'replace toner' I'm going to keep going until the image quality starts to suffer

- the cartridges have 'chips' which prevent you refilling them without doing hardware mods to your machine

One benefit of laser (apart from generally being cheaper to run than inkjets) is that the pictures are waterproof!

& another thing - don't keep switching the printer on & off, that uses toner without actually doing anything useful!

I have a Samsung CLX-2160N which I've owned for ~3 years. I have used toner cartridges off e-bay three times. So far no problems however, the colours are without doubt not as 'bright' but they are acceptable - probably not for good photos. The b/w is fine and I can't detect any difference in tone or shape with the B&W produced by the e-bay cartridges.

Also, when it advises 'replace toner', if you remove toner, shake side to side and replace, you will get quite a bit more use out of them. You can do this several times.

Those are for the 300 series totally different than the 310 series, different shape, size, capacity and chip sadly, that and the link doesn't work even replacing the stars with the obvious.

Oh and if you read my post I said i'd done the research already thanks AND you're looking at the wrong toners as the CLP-300 has been around ages there are plenty of compats this thread is discussing the 310 based printers 310,315,CLX-3175

It's not really suitable for that job my friend, too slow and expensive for volume prints. I'd point you in the direction of a Kyocera FSC-5000 series

ebuyer.com/sea…195

You pay more for them but they have large cap paper trays, great quality, fast, built in duplex black toner does at least 8000 pages for £70 odd. I moved the whole school over to them and we saved a small fortune.

Add a second paper tray and you can have 2 whole reams of paper online at a time.

You can also install the printer as two different printers one exclusively B+W and one colour so offers great control over kids printing.

For toners see if theres a local Lasertech franchise they're marvellous with a sameday delivery more often than not too and they give you cashback on your empty toners as well!!
