Was in Tesco Extra outside York on A64 this morning. They have the Samsung D800 for £64.98 on Tesco PAYG. Probably gives £20 Tesco credit too which comes with mobiles over £50.

How easy is it to unlock these phones??

Original Poster

Can be unlocked in local markets for a tenner or less.

I know you can do the nokia's at home...

Can be unlocked by having £30 of airtime and then calling 4455. Therefore use that £10 that you would use down the market, put it onto the phone and then get it unlocked. I know it works because just bought a Pebl for my wife.

I unlocked my e900 myself for free, just connected my phone to my pc then used some program that i downloaded off the net, not sure if u can do it with this phone

Do you lose the £30 airtime?

Nope. You can still use sim. Bonus is that Tesco Customer Service gave me 50 free texts as well!!

Just seen the E900 for £64 in ASDA Seems even better.

http://www.mobilegazette.com/images/samsung/samsung-e900-2.jpg Image changed.

which is the better phone though?

Have heard the E900 is the most fiddely and annoying phone out there. Not heard much about the D800, is it any good? In the market for a new phone and this is about my price range!!!

Just noticed no memory card on this, which is disappointing, shame.

Any others you could recommend for £65 approx?

This is probably the worst Samsung Mobile in the D SERIES

D500, D600 AND D900 are excellent phones, I found this to be very poor quality all round, couldn't wait to get rid of it

The E900 is a better buy if you can get used to the touch sensitive keys!

i have one of these from tesco and mine is already ulocked, i regularly swap sim cards depending on where i am! i use o2 virgin and the tesco sims all of which work fine and show their relevant names in the display when sim is put in.At £65 its a good buy phone is tiny with some good features but to get the most out of it you would need to buy extras. e.g. getting photos off it means u need to blutooth to your pc and only 1.3m is quite poor.Poor batt life too 3-4 days b4 it chirps its little birdy call on you.

do they have the tesco symbol on the phone and box

I wouldn't touch Samsung slide phones with a barge pole!

I've had 2 where the internal lcd screen has cracked and Samsung don't want to know.

Check out expansys.ca/ft.…e=4 for comments from other dissatisfied buyers.

Get the picture right. You have pasted the D900, which would cost more than £100 easily.

the tesco symbol appears on the lcd and when changing sims it changes to whoever the sim is with. No other visible sign on handset, i can't remember about the box though...

There are sooo many programs (or screenshots at least) - which program for the E900 please?

Cheers.
