I purchased the Samsung 40" HD LCD Television from Debenhams that was posted a few weeks ago with the 20% off code.

I then searched on Amazon for a DVD player to go with this and found this item; which can be operated from the same remote as the TV.

Produces great picture quality.

seems cheapest price at the moment, am sure i must've got my one for cheaper a few months ago though.
cant see as to why its been voted cold
its a good player, but i find the remote a little irritating, as the buttons aren't very responsive , it is multiregion though and plays divx

Looked at this to go with my Samy TV but the reviews put me off. Says the latest firmware affects the multiregion hack and the remote is not very responsive. Ordered this philips one from another thread instead.

How is the pic quality upscaling dvds?

I bought one of these from another website and was very impressed. Was not multi region from the box, but had to use the Samsung dvdhd850 hack which worked fine and still does 6 months on.

I paid about £45 delivered which was using the £10 off £30 spend using google checkout some time ago.

Video quality when upscaling is generally very good, though this will always depend on the source material.

2 things about this however.
1) Region1 dvds, while they play fantastically, do suffer slightly from granulation.
2) This DVD player WILL play avis, but the HDMI socket does not support audio for me while playing avi's.

All in all, this is well worth the plunge. Good find.
