Perhaps Man United could give this a try?
I'll share with you my recent experience with AO and their delivery.

I ordered exactly the same washing machine for £389+ £25 installation fee. They send you a text day before reminding you of your delivery and advise that they will send another text message on the day with your 3-hours-long delivery window. For clarity at the time I was moving houses and still slept at my old place. 7:30am a message woke me up, that my delivery is scheduled between 7am-9am... Kind of counterproductive, right? I quickly jumped out off my pajamas and drove over to the new house while calling the driver and letting him know that I will be there in 40 minutes top. 'No worries', he replied, 'I should be there in about 40 as well'. Only he did call me 20 minutes later that he's there and he won't wait (When asked, didn't give me any reason, so I suppose he just felt like it).
I then called AO and described the situation and they told me they will speak with the driver and tell him to reverse, as at this point I was less than 5 minutes away. They called me back 20 minutes later and told me that 'the driver refused to turn back' - Not sure who's the boss here then, and who pays whom for the services...

Anyway, I cancelled and started looking again as I didn't like the treatment I received.... and that's when -20% ebay code struck and I bought it again off AO (eBay this time) for £339 +£25 installation. Not bad, Ithought, only to discover that they still charged me the original price of £399... After calling them they changed the price and gave me free installation, which I was very happy about, because at this point I was paying only £339. I scheduled the delivery for Saturday again this time (I already moved in the new house), but learning on my mistakes I gave them a time slot when I would be home, and thus delivery number 2 had been scheduled between 1:46pm and 4:46pm.

Only that I did not hear from anybody till 4pm, when I decided to call the driver and ask him how far away he was. The guy on the other side told me, and I quote 'Sorry mate, the driver that was supposed to deliver your item did not show up in the morning and we are currently running behind 3 to 4 hours'. No text beforehand, no call, not a thing! I had to call them myself to discover that I've been sitting in house on Saturday for 4 hours for nothing.

At this point I really had enough and called CS again. 1st call - a lady promised to call me back after talking with deliveries team - she never did. After 40 minutes I called again and they claimed, that I never made this call (if only I didn't have call logs in my smartphone, maybe I would have believed that I had been driven mad by their incompetence!). I then demanded to speak with a manager because enough is enough. Never did speak to him/her, because the lady claimed she/he talks with the delivery team at the moment to resolve my case... She offered me £60 off of my purchase, which I know I shouldn't have taken, but I unfortunately did and my 3rd delivery is scheduled for tomorrow...
If they screw up again, I'll go with another company definitely this time. Notwithstanding, I still will never buy anything from AO again and I will be sure to share my opinion whenever I can...

£279 for a good washing machine is not bad, though, is it?

Sounds similar to what happened here. You don't live in Manchester do you

AO turned up to a house where the people hadn't moved in to yet and it was before 7am so the house was empty and they sat in their van for over half an hour with the engine running before they left

I'm pretty sure they didn't wait for over half an hour for me...

I think they use a mix of their own delivery people and also sub contractors. Perhaps the area you live in they're using a sub contractor hence why they feel they can make the decision as to whether they go back to you or not. Personally I've never had an issue with their deliveries. What a shambles it is though when things go wrong. I don't judge a company on a problem but do judge them on how they deal with any problems. The trouble with AO.com is they usually have a great price, offer dated deliveries and usually super quickly so always very tempting to use them. I vaguely remember ordering a fridge to a buy to let I have and paying for them to take the old one away. The driver refused for some reason. In the end the company refunded me the cost plus gave me £25 to pay the council to collect.

Thankfully you aren't my new neighbour,no offence lol

Seems this might be a thing AO do regularly as I'm such a complainer I sent them a Facebook message at the time complaining about them sitting in a van with the engine running at 6.45am.Who wants to listen to that for nigh on 45 minutes

See the comparison. LG has 'smart' functions(don't know if you'll ever need them, I surely won't), higher water and energy consumption (because of smart options I suppose?), is 3kg heavier, and seems to do 40 and 60 degrees washing quicker than Samsung. They both have the same number of programs and identical noise level, energy efficiency rating and water consumption rating.

Samsung one can be delayed by 24hrs, LG by 19hrs. Does this make a difference? Ask yourself.

I think you will mainly pay 50 more for smart functions. Take it if you think you'll need them.
nice machine
Ordered thanks 😃
I have this in 8kg older model and the only gripe is a sock always ends up in the door

You can get 10% off that with code MDA10A
Deal has expired, error on their website last night meant I couldn’t get it. Price went up today, tried discussing with AO to pay the price I was going to yesterday but they were more willing to lose the sale than bring the price down. Very poor customer service.

Are you sure they didn't just run out of stock and then the price went up? Not sure a retailer can be expected to honour a mistake if that's what it was.
Mine just got delivered today - asked the guys about deliveries and they confirmed that AO has their own and subcontracting delivery teams. Lads were directly employed by AO and behaved fully professional. Had a cuppa together and am very pleased with them (unlike AO as a company).
