Key Features
Product OverviewCombining brilliant features and great functionality, this Samsung washing machine will be a welcome addition to your home. It has a 9kg drum so it’s a great choice for busy, medium-sized households. This model has been given the highest available energy efficiency rating of A+++, making it extremely kind to the environment and utility bills. Thanks to the clever Bubble Soak option, your clothes are soaked before the main wash, to loosen stubborn stains. This model also has a digital inverter motor which is really hard wearing and makes it really quiet to run too.

Moving into a new build next month and I’m looking at LG and Samsung washers. Which is the better brand/more reliable? I see LG offer a 10 year motor warranty unlike Samsung.

I've had same question and I've ask several white goods engineers and all of them said LG above Samsung, not a lot but go for LG, if you want to spend more bosh or even more miele

Note....

Its not the same model. Look at the last 2 digits. Yours mentioned is mw... The other is fw. If you went to price match it would not be honoured

Why?
When I think Its done a quick wash I go back and it’s unbalanced
I have had this problem from day one , probably should of had it looked at
Made me really hate the washer
People rave over them but I’m really not convinced

LG machines definitely have the edge over Samsung on build quality and reliability. Having said that, I would say Samsung is a better choice than all the cheaper run of the mill brands, so you could do a lot worse. LG machines are so technically advanced, well built and well specified that they are putting the likes of Miele to shame. Reliable, but overpriced and dated.
Is it better to just pay £10 extra and buy it from currys?

Samsung also gives 10 years parts only warranty on Inverter Motors, and is higher rated in Which! reliability surveys than LG.

agree
We have had LG and currently have an 11kg ecobubble. I hated the LG as I had wooden floorboards in my old house and every time it went on spin it sounded like it was about to take off. Could feel it jibbering around in my son's bedroom and it drove me nuts. That said, it also had the Currys coverplan and I really tried my best to kill it off. Had it 10 years in the end and everything but the shell was replaced in that time. Gifted it to another family in the end as I needed a bigger drum size. The ecobubble is 2 years old, it has the occasional issue with an unbalanced load but there is 're calibration mode you can run (see youtube) which sorts it out. If it won't spin and it sounds like it's grinding and clunking then it's worth running that mode. We recently had a new pcb fitted and although out of warranty and not covered by Currys, Samsung covered the full cost. But personally, as someone who really gets fair usage from their machines, if you can go for the coverplan from Currys or Ao I would. It's certainly been the most cost effective option for us.
