Maybe because it's so great it can command a higher price?
Upvoted and ordered thanks, been wanting to get a Samsung Evo but ideally with Amazon as the seller which this deal appears to be. Not great previous experience on items via 3rd party Amazon sellers.

"3-bit MLC" aka TLC!

Nice marketing Samsung!
Mines arrived, directly replaced old hard drive, really was a plug and play operation with a new Windows 10 install from a bootable USB. Using it in a Sata 2 laptop. It’s now become a usable machine again.

Yes and to indicate why TLC is not as good as MLC performance wise, is because TLC has more voltage levels 8 I believe, SLC having 2 and MLC having 4. More voltage levels means more time to translate the information to bits as there's more voltage levels to attend to. TLC also has a higher bit rate error due to crosstalk/noise between the voltage levels, more levels more noise more errors.
