For a dashcam, it'd be more ideal to get an endurance type card; more expensive but much less likely to fail under the constant writing of a dashcam. carcamcentral.com/gui…rds

Officially No, Samsung exclude dash cam use in the warranty but unofficially my older Evo has been working fine for about 2 years.
Even the recommended Endurance cards from Sandisk only have a small warranty period for dash cam use amazon.co.uk/dp/…_it
33671630-U8hiO.jpgI just bought this one off eBay. I think this is the same, if anyone is considering buying.
What’s better for the Yi Dome camera, u3 or a1?

When you click on the link it shows you this one too.

I'll choose amazon any time of the day even if the price is doubled tbh. Too much fake cards out there

How would Samsung or any other manufacturer know if a card was used in a dash cam?

I have been using a Samsung Evo for three years in my GoPro helmet cam with no problems.

Dead easy, When a card goes faulty they almost always go into a read only mode to protect the files that are not corrupted, you will not be able to write or format the card but your remaining videos will still be viewable.

StevenRogers That link you're using takes you to a Sandisk Ultra sd card, DO NOT buy a Sandisk Ultra for continuous overwriting recording they are well documented with a very high fail rate in this type of recording. carcamcentral.com/gui…rds
11.95 on eBay?
Is there any benefit of keeping one in a laptop with an SSD drive for constant additional storage/RAM?
Following on from an earlier question, does anyone know if this would be appropriate for the Yi Dome 720 camera posted here a couple of days ago? Conflicting messages elsewhere online.

Or buy a genuine real Samsung sd card from Amazon themselves for £15.99.
There's always a sucker who'll buy a 'bargain' sd card from Ebay
Is this good for 4k
For a go pro 6

Compared to a Sandisk ultra this Samsung is a lot better for continuous recording but still not as good as a high endurance card that is especially made for the purpose amazon.co.uk/San…nce
Personally if I was to use a security camera 24hrs a day I would pay the extra and get a Transcend high endurance card (pricey but they are ultra reliable)

The A1 standard means the card will perform better in a phone, when running apps off of the card as merged system storage.

U3 is a standard which means the card will perform more admirably in cameras, and can handle many pictures being taken one after the other, and high-resolution video being taken.

So this Samsung card with U3 is a much better choice for a camera, but the A1 is better for phones...
