Samsung EVO Select 128gb Micro SD + Adaptor £38.39 @ Amazon US

Shopping around for a MicroSD for my GoPro Hero 5. Wanted 128gb for an upcoming trip. Having looked in the UK the prices seemed crazy (£80+). Quick search on Amazon and this popped up! Works out at £38.39 including postage and taxes if paid in GBP. Reviews say works well with GoPro and I can't knock the price!

Hope it's useful for someone... seems a great price for 128gb. Also reasonable prices on smaller GB.

  • Includes: Full-Size adapter for use in Cameras and Laptop/Desktop Computers

Can't see why not, if it's good enough for a GoPro I'm sure it's more than capable...

Sure you can. But check the max capability of your dashcam. New dashcams I have seen can support 128gb

Now that is one heck of a deal. I already have 2 128gb cards but another won't do any harm. And I can get it delivered to my sister address in Brooklyn, and she can bring it home for me over Christmas. We'll spotted op. Take a bow son. Take a bow.
Hot hot hot hot. Get this instead of sandisk
what the heck is the nonsense in the op about the cards being 80quid+ ?
sure you can get expensive cards but eg the evo plus 128gb can be had for 45quid at mymemory (first place i looked)

I was so close buying this for my DJI Spark but got skeptical after reading DJI recommend 64gb. Anybody here who has used 128gb for spark? Any insights please?

correct me if im wrong but these are uhs3 and evo+ are uhs 1
You can get cheaper cards but if you need 60+mb write speed then you end up paying a lot more... I was looking for a specific card capable of GoPro recording, the cheaper cards just aren’t up to the task...
And also safe in the knowledge you’re getting a genuine item direct from Amazon...

Evo plus also comes in U3.

I tell u this, check that this Samsung card has a warranty when using in a dashcam (as well as other cards). Most of them dont and warranty will be void if they find out, also they will make u pay to return the card to them no matter how it fails. Amazon may honour a replacement within the 10 year manufacturers warranty, I just had mine replaced after 2.5 years there was no way i was sending it back to Samsung, I may also choose different cards in the future, I did like the Samsungs but this has changed my viewa little! Actually would a warranty be valid for this US purchase anyway?

It's 'useable' in a dashcam ie it will physically record but you wouldn't want to because of the constant writes, deletes, writes, deletes etc. It wears out the card. You'd want a high endurance card in a dashcam.

The warranty for the Evo Select actually specifically excludes failure as a result of use in a dashcam:

Would this be suitable for 4K video in a Mavic pro? Or for high burst frame rate on a DSLR 21mp camera? Just wondering if it would keep up
Great deal! Purchased. Thanks OP...

In every one of these threads there's always one person who pops up and claims their item has outlasted everyone else's, and that their SD card / disk drive / washing machine / glass hammer etc has been used every day for hundreds of years without any problems....
I have few questions about using with gopro

Would this reliable for 4K 60fps recording around 60-80 megabits? (hero6)
Can it survive daily ejects, transfers and formats for 3 months tour?

I was after a 128 SD Extreme / Extreme Plus but this can work too...
Are these suitable for game console eg switch and smartphones or overkill and ideal for cams? Thanks
Thanks ordered, it seems the cheapest for now!

Is there any particular reason you want to film at 60 fps? Only benefit IMO is if you want to slow the footage down for super slow motion clips, Other wise if your after a more cinematic look stick to 25-30fps and save some more storage space.

And from what I gather this card should be fine.

Well, it has. Actually two of them. I have the same dashcam front and rear, both with the same type of card bought together at the same time (July 2013). I reformatted both cards in 2015. Perhaps I should do it again in the new year. I've a feeling it also comes down to the camera the cards are used in.

This is a seriously fast card, particularly suited for recording high bit rate video. Depends what you mean by overkill, but it would be definitely be something I personally would use in a smartphone.

See above post for a benchmark.

Easily fast enough for GoPro. 80megabits = 10MB. This records at over 60MB/s for video....

No idea about durability but I suspect it will be fine as it towards the higher end of their SD card range.

Just been charged £16.00 import duties/tax...
Shouldn't be charged anything if you read the terms when you purchase... take it up with Amazon.
"For AmazonGlobal items, you won't be charged additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit we estimated. For items sold by Amazon Marketplace sellers, please check the seller's policies.

If the actual Import Fees are less than the Import Fees Deposit collected by us on your behalf, you'll automatically be refunded the difference to the payment method you used for the order. You'll receive a notification e-mail confirming the amount of the refund. The process takes 60 days from the shipment date."

You would have paid your import fees when purchasing showing as "Import Fees Deposit" amount which equals £6.39 standard shipping...
not slating the deal or anything, upvote its a brilliant price, but has anyone managed to use a msd without it failing? I dont use them very often but every time I do, eg to load up my tablet for movies on the plane it has failed...I seem to go through hundreds of them
