5400rpm? It's too slow.
3.5"? It's too big.
Internal? How inconvenient.
Samsung? Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, most unreliable drive out there....

OK, that's summarised the next twenty posts from people who only want perfection, so here's my view. Nice drive, nice price, if I hadn't recently tidied up my PC I'd have been buying one. Thanks!

wait a minute, you forgot "will this fit in my PS3"

only make of drive I buy.... Having had drives from 5 other big manufactures at my place of work (over 100drives bought) and all brands failing, I switched to Samsung and have had no problems what so ever since the swap 3 years ago!!!!!!!!

i've been using samsung spinpoints for the last 7 years and all of them are still going strong, however I still have everything backed up

I would deffo buy 2 of these! HOT!!!

isn't this still cheaper?

For anyone wondering:
It should do. Just remove the mainboard and blu-ray drive, when you install it.

depends if your preferred retailer is Amazon or SaverStore.

are amazon shipping hard drivers properly now? there were stories (geek.com/art…31/) a few months ago regarding problems.

True.

Kinda was thinking about getting 2. Looks like there are price wars starting on the 2tb drives.

2 would be in essence roughly £5 cheaper on sava. (pay delivery once?) Look like good drives though. Thanks for posting op.

yup - my one was cheaper even more so if you buy more than one or collect

No need to do that, just mark an inch line on the hard drive and cut it down...

torn between this and the ST3200542AS - 2TB Seagate Barracuda at 70.49 today at scan

Have a look at a few of the benchmarks b4 deciding. I've gone for the F4 as they've squeezed more data onto three platters. Supposed to give near 7200rpm transfer rates from a 5400rpm drive... Or something like that.

I went for the F4 - still a bit annoyed by the noise the seagate makes in my NAS!
