I dunno if this would be very useful for anyone else, I've bought this fridge freezer the last week and had it delivered Sunday and imho i this its a good deal with 5yr samsung parts and labour warranty and after cashback and quidco it works out only £342 delivered for a decent frost free fridge freezer.

Went for this one because of the larger freezer then others i was considering (98L) on the downside fridge was little smaller the others but not that important for me.

Its well built, and looks good, not bad for £342 with a 5yr warranty and delivered within 2days (ordered friday and delivered sunday)

For cashback you must buy before june 30th and claim before mid july but not within 10 day of buying

brilliant value .. got the bigger one earlier on in the year but for 350 this is better

Great price but too tall for what I need

I got the rb31 last week it's a great bit of kit, we did look at this one but it was quite small for a little family.

i also got the rb31 in inox for £449 before cashback, couldn't find a freezer in same finish so purchased stainless steel one from Very and got 10% off my first order plus the cashback of £50 to come, so dropped from £599 which was same price as JL to £490 after cashback. apparently cashback comes in form of a precharged payment card and pin, so you can't bank it or use it to pay off credit card cost of unit, you have to spend it.

i considered that 1 too, but only difference was the extra 20L in fridge which i didnt need (freezer both 98L)
i did like the display on the front door tho, similar but hidden on the rb29

yeah for a fee they will take away your old 1

This has been this price for a while. I had this from Appliances Online a few weeks back as a replacement for a black Lec TF5517B fridge freezer (£330 + £50 Ocado voucher) which had a fault on the thermostat on delivery. It is bigger than the LEC which was a concern but I am happy with the swap. In comparison the Samsung is significantly better.... it has a wine rack, door alarm, much brighter light and independent temperatures for the fridge and freezer over the LEC. The LEC had a matt finish which I preferred though. Samsung describe theirs as matt but it is a very shiney matt! Also there are no adjustable legs at the back so I have had to put wood under them to level the fridge freezer. I was a bit concerned because Samsung come last in the reliability ratings on a Which survey - I think this may have been a fault on some of the American fridge freezers they had and I hope they have resolved their issues. I know it has a 5 year warranty but I don't want the hassle of a freezer going wrong. From memory this is made in Poland whereas the LEC was made in China. I sent off my £50 claim on 1 June but haven't heard anything yet. One email says I will hear within 28 days, the confirmation said I would hear within 5 days "Thank you for submitting your application form online. We will be in touch in the course of the next 5 working days to update you on the status of your claim."

EDIT : Also the LEC had 4 freezer drawers and the Samsung has 3 but the Samsung can fit a LOT more stuff in than the LEC. I couldn't fit a pizza in and a loaf of bread would almost fill a drawer in the LEC.

Oh... I also considered this one too. £30 more if you want a drinks dispenser

Nice find. I need a new Fridge Freezer - currently a 6 year old Samsung as well, but its making a bit more noise than usual... especially when the temperature is hot.

These are brilliant. We bought one last month - ordered on the Sunday, delivered on the Monday - only a tenner extra.

Great fridge freezer - massive, and the £50 cashback (as a topped up credit card) is a sweetener from Samsung.

this replaced my old Samsung American style fridge freezer which started making noise and ice build up in back of fridge and the temp would go towards 10c after approx 9years. Didn't fancy spending another £750 on that style again plus didn't really use the American style fridge freezer space nor the water/ice dispenser.

If this last me 10yrs i'll be more then happy compared to my last 1. (they don't make them like they use to! lol)

Not for me, I like my fridges white

Just stick it on eBay. You'll get £20 min for it, bringing the price down further rather than increasing it.

Do Appliances Online remove the old freezer?

If its still in working order sell it on ebay or to some 2nd hand apliance shop. Thats what I did with my old fridge. Ebay - buyer collects, shop - will pick it up.
Just my thought. Good luck.

Just a tip on the pre-payment card ... i rang the number on the back and was allowed to use it at an ATM ... so just withdrew the £50 as it was easier for me to do this ...

thanks for that

That's good to know. I haven't received mine yet, was just going by what the Currys person said.

I have an older Samsung Fridge Freezer, they are pretty damn quiet, which is nice.

Fab. will look into this as need a new freezer. thank you

My gran when she got a new fridge asked the removal guys to remove the old fridge in the garden. She didn't realize it was bait fridge which was full of fish heads and guts i was leaving to get as smelly as possible for my lobster pots. It was pretty filthy and the stick could hit you from about 30ft as soon as you open the door. Anyway when i got home form work it took a while to figure out what had happened. We never heard anything from the delivery company but someone must of had a really shock. Makes me chuckle every time i think about it.

I can thoroughly recommend Appliances Online. I recently purchased a large American Style F/F from them and their Sales and Delivery people are excellent. Access to the kitchen is quite restricted so I had anticipated that the F/F doors would need removal and refitting; Appliances Online were one of the few retailers happy to do this (FOC). Currys would do it but wanted to charge for the service. However the delivery guys managed to do it with the doors on. The Samsung free extended warranty decided the deal, and the cash back was a nice bonus. Ordered on the Friday at about 7pm delivered Sunday morning.

I ordered a different samsung fridge freezer last night from this company - after seeing this post helped me make the decision to go for a Samsung with the cashback and warranty deal. they called tonight to confirm delivery etc and asked what I was doing with old fridge and then offered to take away free of charge anyway - so don't bother paying £10 for them to remove old one! Saves an awkward trip to the tip anyway.

apparently currys donate working old appliances to british heart foundation so they can do them up and sell them. obviously knackered ones go on a very long journey to recyclers.

which magazine has just published a review of fridge freezers - which are good value and which are not.

if you can't/ don/t want to access which magazine - check google news : the survey has been reported in several newspapers over the past few days.

They didn't offer to take mine away. Maybe they were 'disposing' of it themselves? Mine went to the local scrap collectors.

All well and good but only 2 Samsungs are reviewed and both are the massive American style jobbies.

Hi I was thinking of buying this fridge. Ive read your comment but dont understand the prepayment tip you mention. Could you please explain before I order. Thank you

it relates to the cashback from samsung, which comes on a prepaid debit card. currys told me it had to be spent in shop, but samzam used it to get cash out of hole in wall cash machine if i got it right.

Same price at Argos

Good spot.... though you can't specify the day you want it delivered. Or pay extra for next day.

Yeah, I'm thinking of buying from Appliances Online, just thought I'd mention it as another option.

Unless anyone else can suggest a better (cheaper) option?

I don't think you will find better at this price point if you want a black fridge freezer. I can only compare with the cheaper LEC I had previously (see earlier post) but this adds a lot for not a lot more money. Some of the Bekos and Hotpoints get good reviews but they don't have the 5 year warranty. Reading the reviews it seems likely that the Samsung is likely to be quieter too.

Black or silver, just not white.

Anything is going to be quieter than the noise mine is making at the moment, must have had it near on 10 years though!

I'm having a good search now but nothing stands out like this so far.

It's sold out now, dam!!

Will buying from Argos come with the 5 year warranty, or was that exclusive to Appliances online?

Not exclusive to Appliances Online. However, it is selected retailers. I can't look now but I think that the 5 year was mentioned on Argos' own website so they must be one of the eligible ones. It may be worth ringing Appliances Online to see if they are getting any in before the 30th when the £50 cashback ends.

EDIT : I would ring Samsung to clarify. It specifically excludes some retailers in their details here : samsung.com/uk/…ty/ Argos is not one of the excluded ones listed but then again they don't give a list of those included.

But I think you are clear " Purchases from auction websites (eg. eBay), from third party sellers on online retailers' websites (e.g. Amazon Marketplace) or from Electrocentre Ltd (trading online as Electrocentre.co.uk, Digital-Point.co.uk, 247electrical.co.uk) or Ultimate Appliances Ltd are excluded. "

There's another thread ( hotukdeals.com/dea…027 ) claiming that 247electronics is eligible for this offer. If that is so then this fridge freezer is a massive bargain from here :

247electronics.co.uk/vie…048

I'd look into it first though to be sure. It would work out less than £300 with 5 year warranty if true
