Refreshed 28th Nov 2019 (Posted 16th Nov 2019)

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Cancel the sim within the first 14 days by ringing 02 to get the phone FREE.

ALSO GO THROUGH TOPCASHBACK. WILL TRACK AT £50.00.

I have experienced using this 12 month sim only method and everytime i have got my topcashback cleared and cancelled sim.

To cancel sim only, call 02 and say you want to cancel sim only contract, dont mention about getting a phone, no need to. Just say you have a sim only contract and have changed your mind. Simple.

THERE WILL BE A CREDIT CHECK FOR THE 12 MONTH 02 SIM ONLY CONTRACT.

Yes 12 month 02 sim only. It should be at the top.
If it is sim only why are they sending you a phone?

The phone is provided by Carphone Warehouse the contract is taken out with O2.
I don't see how this can work, it's not a sim only plan.
It's £99 upfront
"SIM only + SIM free: Discount given on handset cost when taken with a SIM only contract. The discount value may be recovered should the SIM only contract be cancelled within the cancellation period."
HotUKDeals need to put a stop to deals that are risky Vs the terms and conditions, and risk tying people into a contract. The terms clearly state that if you cancel early they can charge you the saving you've made on the phone.

Terms appear to have changed since people last did this.

is it the £28 one?
Because the deal is to pay up front for the phone, not for a phone contract. As op stated, the plan itself is SIMO..
I have had my cashback tracked on a similar deal.

Doesn't work. I've already tried it. CPW send you an email the next day to return the phone with a bill for the full price of the phone.
Watch those bullets op
Phone contracts are generally water tight. You think you found a work around, but generally these lot are always one step ahead of you

You don't call carphone warehouse to cancel it. You call o2 customer service and tell them it was a sim only contract.

Mate, I've done a few of these, and they've worked in the past - not this one though, sadly. I called O2 to cancel, and got an email from CPW the next day with a bill for full price for the phone, so I took it back.

Load of...... I got 2 and cancelled the sim 2 weeks ago. Ive been doing this for around 2/3 years now.
Wouldn't risk this - you'll end up with a black mark on your credit report and paying full price for the phone as per terms. End result is out of pocket unless you want the phone anyway.
Dodgy these days after the new small print added earlier in the year...

You posted a pic for a contract at £28 /month on O2 and OP listed the deal for £19 /month

Look at the ad again. It clearly states £0 upfront cost on a 12 month plan at £28 per month. Ok so the op made a mistake on the monthly cost of the contract, give the guy a break, he's only human like the rest of us.
Yes, but you can't keep the phone after you've cancelled with O2. CPW bill you for the phone.

Look, I've still got the receipt from when I tried it.

What on earth are you on about? I'm not having a go at the OP. I'm just stating that the £19 /month deal is £99 upfront.

I've never tried this because it just seems a bit dishonest.
Why not take the £30 a month with the switch lite or the £200 Curry's voucher?

Its £99 upfront for the 12 month SIM
Not the 24 month sim

Let's get this straight...you messaged me about the photo I posted which clearly shows when you take that sim only deal for £28 per month on a 12 month plan the phone is free. Clearly the op made a mistake and meant to put the deal I've shown instead as this is the one that requires NO UPFRONT COST...comprendia

Its funny how the people who have not tried this method think they know alot more than the people who have tried this method. 🥱

Yes i have the receipt as well. It is sim free with sim only. I cancelled the sim by ringing O2 on 2 A20e and once with the A10 before that and got them free. Sold them of to CEX for about £90 each and also got £50 cashback on each of them.

You can see my cashback screenshots here.

I have used this method many many times, probably more than HUKD put together and always been successful.

You should have posted it a couple of weeks ago when it worked then and more people could have benefited. I got mine Monday, called O2 to cancel, then got an email billing me for the phone on Tuesday, so took it back. It looks like you got lucky.

Did it also spell out on your receipt "Minimum length of contract is 12 months"? It's the first time it's ever said that for me. Anyway, it no longer works.

I did post it but HUKD decided to remove it. See messages here:
