Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 (Black or Gold) O2 Refresh Sale £117.99 or £120 @ O2

Hi guys

My first deal here, I was in my O2 shop today and saw that the Galaxy A3 2016 Edition has been slashed on Refresh Device plan prices.

Either pay £69.99 up front and then £2 a month or £0 up front and £5 a month.

A fantastic price for a great mid range handset given on PAYG its £209.99!

Available in Black or Gold and of course for those only interested in the device you can pay off the device plan and cancel the air time as per previous refresh deals.

Unlike previous refresh deals this is available on any tariff!

I can't see any sale prices? It says £14 a month?

will the phone be locked to o2?

how do you get it at £120?

I found this info on another deal. I think this is what they mean.
1) Follow the get deal button, purchase the GB and tarriff

2) Receive your brand new phone and sim card.

3) Put the sim card into your phone and go onto myO2 (app or website) and from there request the unlock code.

4) Call 202 from the same sim card as it will make things much easier, go straight to the I want to leave o2 department or something like that (I think it's thinking of leaving us? Press something) as that will connect you with the right people much quicker.

5) Tell the person you want to pay your device in full and cancel the airtime. They will ask you why, tell them you don't think the airtime is a good value for money, but you want to keep the phone because you think it's an outstanding value for money. They will ask you for card details, you tell those details and that's it, they cancel it for you in about an hour.

6) You own the phone from that point, assumed that you have done this straightaway, there won't be any charges, otherwise you will have to pay as much airtime as you have used.

7) Unlock code will come through in about 2 to 48 hours.

In first month they might take the airtime from your bank account through direct debit because they generate the bill the next day you apply for a contract, don't be scared as this will be refunded the next month, if not, call them again.

Many people have taken advantage of refresh offers in the past

are you not tied into a fixed period contract on the air time?

if you click the more info button on there site it tells you cash price
also they have refurbs for Samsung Galaxy A3 Like New £96

Argos ebay have Refurbished With a sim free 12 Month Argos Guarantee for £129, may be less hassle

how do you get it at £120?

Pick any tariff with nothing up front, buy it as you would a contract then ring up O2 to cancel the air time and all you have to pay is the Device plan which would be 24x£5 in this case.

you can also get the phone unlocked free from o2
and 2 year warranty

Less hassle maybe but this is new not Argos refurb

Also, the £129 refurbs are the older a3 4.5" editions not the 2016 4.7" one in this deal. Refurbs for the 2016 4.7" editon are £159.

No, O2 website has a form to fill in - just search their help section. It took less than 48hrs to receive an email with the unlock code.

Guys, just be aware with these refresh deals - the first monthly airtime payment is automatically billed & usually taken from your account. But don't worry, as it will also be automatically refunded in 1-2 weeks. But, on the odd occasion the latter fails to happen, so you will need to chase them for a refund & also make sure the direct debit is properly cancelled at their end.

Also worth reading about credit checks for these types of deals: Beware split tariff mobile contracts if you're about to apply for credit. This happens even if you pay in full when the phone arrives & they cancel the airtime contract - as you're doing it in this method.

This deal is on until 21st December......you could wait and see if better deal comes along for black friday?

Sorry I'm being stupid here. I don't understand how these o2 refresh deals work.

Do I set up the contract and only have to pay the phone off? Is the airtime ignored then?

okay, that sounds good. So I don't have to pay off the airtime .. just the handset?

sorry for sounding thick but what option do I apply for as I can't find a £5 contract the cheapest seems to be £9. will the deal still work on that?
