Selling the A50 I bought in Dec as it's a buggy mess.

Hopefully the A51 is an improvement, but for £250 I'd be leaning towards the Redmi Note 9 Pro

Or even spend an extra £10 and get a Note 9. Sure, it's used, but 12m warranty and the 512 GB version - it's a great price

Xiaomi hardware specs always look great on paper but miui puts me off (but I realise that's down to personal taste). Also photo image quality on the budget models is usually pretty average.

Yeah - that's true enough. Although, the Note 8 Pro got an 84 DXO mark vs an 85 on the A50, so the A51/Note 9 Pro should be in a similar ballpark in the camera dept.

I also use custom launchers so you dont need to use miui (try microsoft or nova launcher from play store)

Yeah I have an A50 and the software side is not great. Battery not as good as should be and sluggish performance
Just sold my used A50 for £210. eBay is bonkers rn
What’s the warranty situation with phones bought from eg Amazon Germany?
