Great phone for the price.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 may not be the best spec'd phone in the world but it's pretty much todays version of the Samsung Galaxy S2. The good news is that it comes with Android Jellybean and all the same features you get in current Samsung smartphones. At £150 it's probably the best phone at that price right now, and what's even better is that it's currently the UK's cheapest 4G LTE phone.

For those looking for a phone with a budget up to £150 then this is certainly a great buy. The phone is sim free as well so it'll work with any SIM card. Also one complaint that was bought up a lot with the Ace was the fact that it had low memory and this meant the user couldn't install any apps. The good news is the Ace 3 solves this issue by having 8GB memory on board as well as memory card support. Phone comes with NFC so you can make wireless payments and stuff like that. Also the phone has a front facing camera so can be used for skype. It also supports faster 3G speeds and 4G speeds as well although you'll need to have a 4G plan to get 4G speeds. (If you're on Three you get 4G for free so this may be a great phone for users on Three)

The only downside i can see is the battery life but that's all smartphones for you. Also the screen resolution isn't great but it's good enough. Like i said, this is basically a Samsung Galaxy S2 but at £150 brand new and with 4G LTE support.

I think the LTE has a bigger 1800 mAh battery compared to the standard Ace 3.

Cheapest 4g lte phone if anyone's on 3 and what's 4g could be a bargin. Low res screen, week battery and 5mp camera that can only take 720p video. The dual core cpu might not be fast enough for some including gaming but a decent mid range handset for some who doesn't want the biggest or best and wants 4g might be a bargain for some.

If you live anywhere other than a massive city don't bother with 4G for about 2-3 years.

I have a the Galaxy Ace 2 for the work phone and even that is OK, should imagine that the 3 brings it on another level.

However I do find that Samsung quality is pretty poor, had issues with multiple S2's and the Ace isn't without it's fault. Hope the Ace 3 brings the game on a bit.

I understand that but I've never bought a brand new phone, I've always grabbed an immaculate second hand one from eBay, rooted and put a custom rom on. provided the original owner has taken care of it which will be evident from its appearance imo there's nothing wrong with a new phone

EE currently have 60%+ 4G coverage and will have 98% by the end of 2014 which is one year from now. All other networks are hoping for 98% coverage by the end of 2015 which is two years from now. EE already have 4G in loads of smaller towns and cities. So the 4G roll out in the UK is going well and it's certainly a point to consider when purchasing a phone. Although prices for 4G aren't exactly great just yet.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying you're comparing used to new. So of course a used phone is going to cost less.
The advantage of a new phone is usually a warranty + the fact it hasn't been used. So if we're looking at the new market this is the best phone to buy under £150 from Samsung.

Nexus 4 is definitely a better phone for extra 50pounds with Quad core processor and 2GB RAM.

Nexus 4 Plus Point:
Much better spec compared to Samsung Galaxy Ace LTE
Will get direct and latest android updates from Google
Good Battery Life

Samsung Ace LTE Plus Points:
4G Enabled. Nexus 4 does not support 4G.
Cheaper than Nexus 4.
Samsung is a better phone manufacturer than LG.
Memory card support to extend memory (till 64GB). Nexus does not support external SD cards.
Nexus 4 (8GB and 16GB) out of stock.
Nexus 4 has a glass back. So careful handling required to avoid breakage.

Please decide based on your needs.
My personal preference Nexus 4 as it suits my needs. Unfortunately its out of stock and I am not sure if it will be available in future.

Any update on Nexus 4 would be appreciated.

Oh, someone posted this deal. I was just going to do it. Some lunatic posted a Galaxy Ace 2 for £164.40 and thinks that's a bargain. LMFAO! Have some heat.

Isn't this basically a Galaxy S3 Mini?

Like, exactly the same?

Not exactly the same but not enough of a difference to warrant purchasing an S3 Mini. Comparison.

Ace 2 was a huge improvement ove the first one. I do prefer it to the s3 mini and original galaxy S

I cant wait to try one of these ace 3

Good price

Poorer screen, poorer cameras, less storage, no MHL

Almost there but not quite

Top Cash Back giving £5.25 as well

I was waiting for this phone to be released for ages, finally picked up an HTC one sv and couldn't be happier.

I find that hard to believe as when I visit my relatives in Wales I struggle to get 2g most of the time!

Now if only there was a dualsim version which was 4g/lte ready

Mediatek are releasing a Quad Core and 8 Core processor at the end of this year with a 4G modem that may work in the UK.

Qualcomm will have one soon as well.

Oh I'm not saying buy a mini instead (and that's an S4 mini you've compared it to, not an S3, which is basically this phone and the same price), I mean why do Samsung keep making the same phone under a different name?

Samsung just basically cover every base so that if you are looking at a particular price range, they have a model for you. I think it just makes Android a mess with a high model, high-mid model, high-mid-low model etc....

Sorry. My bad. Good spot. Still looking at the S4 Mini. It isn't even that much of an improvement over the budget Ace 3 unless you need a slightly bigger and sharper screen or 1080p video shooting ability. It's all about cashing in on the Galaxy S line with the Mini range it would seem.

All the above is true (i've got one), but it's sold out and extremely unlikely to be restocked.
PM me if you are interested in a pristine 3 month old Nexus 4 (it was replaced by Google after the previous one developed a fault)

Buy 3 !

" I think it just makes Android a mess with a high model, high-mid model, high-mid-low model etc...."

Maybe Apple are in an even bigger mess insisting on low resolution phones to promote separate iPad apps.

Users are the piggy in the middle.

The HTC ONE SV may be a slightly better phone on screen size , video resolution , but is it worth £70 more , the cheapest i could find a new 4g version was £220 .

HTC ONE SV Vs ACE 3

Why compare this to the mini s3? Where can I get a new s3 mini for £150

Agreed. Although I would suggest if you are in the city in which you live, you presumably aren't that far away from your own WiFi connection to download what you need before you head out anyway!
