Samsung Galaxy Ace Refurbished, 12M contract, potentially +£3 by redemption - £360@mobiles.co.uk

Free Samsung Galaxy S5830 Ace refurbished with Talkmobile Smart plan 400 (12 months):
£30.00/m - effectively £10.00 monthly (8 months free by redemption)
With 400 mins & 1000 texts
PLUS 1GB of data usage.

CEX gives £93 for the handset so potentially:
360 - 30 (quidco/tcb) - 240 (redemption) - 93 (handset) = +£3 and you're staying with really decent and short contract (400mins, 1000txts, 1GB).

If you're against the redemption... I just have finished my 18m contract with O2/dial-a-phone by redemption - all cheques arrived on time, so in the end I had 18m contract for free. Is it so troublesome to send a wee letter once every 3 months??

COLD VOTERS PLEASE GIVE REASON :P

Good deal. Thanks op. Esp for 12 months contract.
Got one a few months ago on the 300/1000/1GB plan...12 months @ £25 per month, with 9 months free via redemption.

That was a much better deal.

Probably why this is cold.

Even easier than sending a letter op. mobiles allows you to email them directly now.

COLD VOTERS PLEASE GIVE REASON

It's because they know they are too shiftless and disorganised to make this work (and that is VERY shiftless and disorganised). Post a deal for cheap creme eggs, though, and they'll vote it up to a thousand degrees.
good deal if it works out even if you keep the handset, but note phone is a refurb

i guess people are nervous about the £30/mth and getting cashback

its an okish phone

i can get a new ace with virgin mobile for £7.99/mth 100mins 500 texts 500mb 3000mins to vm mobiles - but contract is 2 years - yuck, no thanks.

these redemption deals are always a gamble - they may well have worked so far and depends on your contract but things not stipulated in the contract can change - eg not long ago most contracts were unlimited data - none are now, except the one i have - you are also relying on tarrifs staying the same/similar in 9months-24 months time

bet it wont be long before they stop this

nb. i work in telecoms

I have this phone, it's not bad but it lacks playing more modern games or 3d games at a good frame rate, for internet radio and web browsing while at work it's great.
I used to have the Ace.

Reasons I got rid of it within two months:
1) really awful screen
2) dreadful battery, and before you jump like a moron with "all mobile phones have crap batteries" I'd say this is much worse than most other android phones

To sum up, get a defy for 100 bones and get a sim only deal for 10 bones a month.

You save yourself 120 bones, which you can use to buy your wife a new handbag from argos.

You can sell Samsung for 90 bones and keep the 400min/1000txt/1GB for free for another 12 months instead of sim only for 10 bones... not?

Potentially if you manage to get the redemption, quidco. Otherwise you waste over 200 bones.

I took that risk, not for the first time. Was always in+ before.
