Intel Core i5
With an Intel Core i5 processor, you'll easily handle day-to-day tasks like word processing, image editing, web browsing and casual gaming.

The i5-1135G7 processor in this model features 8MB of cache and 4 cores that can adjust their speed depending on the complexity of the task they are working on, from 2.40GHz to 4.20GHz.

Featuring 8GB of RAM, this computer has enough power for casual tasks like web browsing and word processing as well as more demanding jobs like complex spreadsheets and image manipulation. You'll be able to run a healthy number of windows at once without any obvious lag or slowdown.

Solid state drive
Solid-state drives (SSD) give you the capacity to store your documents and media, while ensuring quicker and reliable access to your files and programs. SSDs are far faster than regular hard drives and ingeniously, they don't use moving parts to work, which makes them far more dependable and also quieter.

Intel Iris Xe graphics
Intel’s Iris Xe graphics processing unit (GPU) will enable you to enjoy a number of classic older games, along with some casual (web-based) gaming. You may be able to run more modern titles with reduced effects and frame rates.

Great entertainment
Due to the 15.6”, Full HD display, viewing your high-resolution photos, films and videos will be a pleasure. This device has been designed to convey immersive images, and thanks to stereo speakers, featuring Dolby Atmos technology, will make for a great casual gaming and multimedia experience.

Connecting your other devices
The USB ports allow for fast data transfer and HDMI enables dual screen working options, whilst the microSD card slot offers a convenient way to upload your photos and videos. Additionally, there are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options available as well.

Currys seems to have an endless supply of open/damaged box stock on this

wish posters of electronic equipment would post the power consumption, this may become the biggest factor in purchase and encourage people in the direction of "slower" processors that nevertheless work fine for things like internet and writing.

Im so close to getting this. Any reason not to? Not being able to upgrade ram I don't think is a problem for me. This won't be put under heavy load.

I did quite a lot of research on this and the only negative review I could find was on Argos website regarding the number of pixels on the display. John Lewis have the exact same one in blue for £100 more so there was an immediate £100 saving plus an additional £100 using the offer code. So having had a Samsung laptop run trouble free for many years until I dropped it and broke the screen at which point it was over 5 years old. If I get a similar lifespan out of this one I will be very pleased, especially at this price.

I bought an ‘open box’ one of these from Curry’s eBay site in November 21 as a Christmas pressie for daughter. Paid £419 at the time. It’s a decent laptop, more than good enough for school work. Screen is good and it’s pretty quick too. Very happy with it 6 months in.

    samsung.com/uk/…uk/

Has 2 M2 slots, one comes with up to 512GB built in (this model has 256GB), and the 2nd for whatever reason is limited to 1Tb.

Which is bizarre, cant quite understand why u cant dump a 2Tb SSD in it, Crucial 2Tb is just £130. having looked online not sure. Can anyone confirm either way? (edited)

I bought the blue in this from Samsung in January £558.00 with Student discount I also added the 3 year warranty. Great price at £399.00 it is the best laptop I have owned. The fact that the screen is really flexible makes such a difference as I have had a lot of issues with hinges on other laptops.

Will this be good for a student, just need Internet, teams, email, that sort of thing?

Very good too good for a student

So just got it and set it up.

Fan like turning on not sure why but sounds like a quiet plane taking off, just opening chrome seems to set it off too and then it quietens down.

charging via USB is nice but the wire is a bit short maybe 1M, so might look to get hold of a longer wire. but not sure what would specs it would need to be.

Keyboard is gonna take getting used to and also has a numpad too, although seems there is no light for the numlock button to tell if its on or off which is odd, not backlit either but not an issue if u dont work in the dark.

but forgot how big a 15.6" laptop is, that was a pleasant surprise. build feels nice and hinge opens pretty much with one hand too which is suppose to be an expensive feat of engineering so i guess nice to have on a model this cheap

edit: has an i5-1135G7 CPU (edited)

How does this compare to the recent £320 ASUS X415 that I missed out on?

This will have better build quality and possibly better screen and battery life. Processor is better in ASUS one and difference of £81.
