The 2017 model of the Samsung Galaxy J3 is available on PAYG from CW for £129+£10 top-up. This phone seems to normally retail between £160-180. Possible £5 cashback via TopCashback.

There's a choice of EE, Virgin and O2 SIMs at the same price (if you even take any notice of the top-up element)

Note that the 2016 model, which tends to be cheaper, is lower-spec and therefore not comparable.

Are they unlocked or locked to the first sim you use

According to a different thread, it would seem that PAYG phones come unlocked from CPW. But if you have any concerns, it's probably worth popping in and asking them.

Cpw are unlocked

£129 at o2 as well not sure if unlocked though.

O2 definitely come locked. You have to wait 12 months and pay £15 to unlock an O2 PAYG phone!

Is that even with car phone warehouse phones? Just ordered to use with a Tesco sim 😯

I was talking about PAYG from O2. Don’t know about CPW.

Ok, should be able to tell by the box when it comes

Paid 149£ more than year ago can't see real deal

Have bought from CPW several times, they were always unlocked. iPhones may be the exception where they lock to first sim's network

It's not worth asking them, as they'll try and sell you the more expensive SIM free model, which is exactly the same phone and box, just minus the SIM card!

I think there's a lot in the £130 price range. I had the J3 2016 and although it was nice it definitely wasn't anything special. I dont see this as being anything meaningful of an upgrade.

How good is this for using to hotspot the kids tablets? So they can ay pokemon go or watch you tube using his data? Hubbie wants a Samsung but nothing fancy it appears to otherwise meet that requirement.. Or would there be a better low budget option?
