Pretty good price for this, I think. Only £10 more expensive than used (or dodgy-looking Hong Kong sellers that probably don't pay import duty) and WAY cheaper than other UK sellers.

Big selling-point is the 20.7mp camera with 10x optical zoom. A lot of people say it's a gimmick and you're better off buying a mid-range digital camera, but realistically, you're not going to carry that around with you 24/7 like a phone.

Other features include:
- xenon flash
- a 720 x 1280, 4.8 inch screen
- HDR
- image stabilization
- a hexacore processor (Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 & dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15)
- nfc
- 4g
- Bluetooth 4.0
- 2GB RAM
- Only 8GB storage, but takes a 64GB micro SD card

I've just bought it so I'd appreciate your input (good or bad)

Here's a link to the Araree auto-pop case:

ebay.co.uk/itm…147

Kinda expensive and comes all the way from Korea, but should stop dust getting into the sensor (which would be a bad thing). Plus it has a strap!!!!!

It needs a case as the main issue reported (as with previous model) is dust in the lens assembly with requires a repair. A case seems to help such issues.

Yeah, I'd read about that. Put me off a bit at first but people say that case does a good job of keeping the dust out. And I'm sure it'd happen to any other zoom camera - it's just that people usually take much better care of their cameras than their phones.

I've had one for a year, very happy with it.
perfectly serviceable phone, the camera takes good pics and the zoom is excellent.
I've recently started noticing dust becomes very visible at high zoom levels. It does ruin the shots. I've been using a case with it as well.
It's pretty chunky but Like that as I always know which pocket it's in

Oh yeah, not having a strap is a downer. I drilled a couple of small holes into the rubber case I was using to attach a lanyard.

What case were you using? I read that the Araree autopop case that I linked to pretty much eliminated the problem

Plus it has a strap :-P

Yeah, I saw that. And the one for £190 from "eglobalcentral" was tempting too, but for the sake of 10 quid I'd rather buy a proper UK model from a trustworthy UK seller (eBay/PayPal is a bonus too)

The Simply Electronics is the same model. Not knocking the deal just throwing it out there.

A lot of simply electronics products are grey imports and some are even sent from china / hong kong. They have lots of good reviews but also a LOT of very very bad ones. I personally had a bad experience with them (I ordered a phone and after 3 weeks of not receiving it emailed them and never got a response, took me 3 months to get my money back).

These are a bit long in the tooth now for £200 quid!

Link plz, thanks

Traded one of these in at CEX for about £180 a few weeks ago - reasonably good camera and phone let down by silly (ie. slow) Samsung interface bolted on to Android and no planned update to even the latest KitKat version, let alone Lollipop. Also on 1 in 25 ish occasions the camera would launch but show black, requiring a reboot. Overpriced now really.

Just some generic jobbie from ebay. There weren't may around when I first got the phone - it doesn't have a lens cover.

Interesting phone for the camera, but specs wise its way overpriced compared to the £125 Vodafone smart 6 ultra ( I should get commission for the amount of times I plug that phone)
