Sounds like an interesting phone, shame about the resolution though. That's Samsung being tight @rses for you!

Resoltuition is fair enough play nicely Everything , is huge phone using it usually as tablet at home , shame about small internal memory and will notice it soon because y can't save games and apps or movies on sd card it will not allow you .

Too big for me but a good deal for others

Agreed, the internal memory would bother me more specially with the usual samsung bloat.

Heat regardless.

To be honest I expect better specs at this price, it is a large phone. But usually I expect who use large phones use it for a lot of things, that dual core cpu may not keep up, the graphics also will struggle with the larger screen compared to a small screen if you want to game. Pixels is also off putting, the good thing is the 1.5gb of ram. There are better phones out there at this price.

name one. Its performance is fine... dont notice the lower resolution and its a 4g phone that its a joy to watch video and read kindle on. Its not for everyone but the 6.3 inch screen make this a totally different animal from most 5.5 inch competitors in its price range.

I have a Note 2, and can just about handle the size, this phone really is Just too big.

Not bad at all as a tablet though

Should have called this The Samsung Lurch (from the Adams Family)

For a similar price you can get a Sony Xperia Z Ultra which is a better phone in every single way, Samsung just did better marketing it seems as the Sony should be destroying it in sales.

Sony has fast quad-core, full HD display, waterproof, metal frame, ultra-slim, bigger display, 4G, more RAM and on-board storage. The Mega isn't bad at all, it just pales compared to that.

No flash /torch on the Z is a huge issue for me.

It seems it's oos already

Maybe, but the screen's so big and bright, displaying a white image on the LCD at max brightness is just as good a compromise. It may be just about the only place the Mega beats this and for that I'd carry a keychain torch if I really needed.

True but it is not always the case as not all apps allow it, for instance BBC Iplayer app can be installed on th sd card but any tv downloads are only stored on the internal memory making the instalation option pointless.

Not terribly useful for taking photos though. I'm not disputing the Z may well be a good phone though no LED is a bit mad IMO.

It is pretty mad but never really bothered me - it's too big to use as a phone without ridicule so taking photos on it for me is a no-no anyway; I would never use it as a primary handset (and don't). I can't think of the reason they removed the LED flash in all honesty.

Hmm ... I was expecting it to have better specs. Only worth buying this phone if you need a 6.3 inch screen.

to be fair if your interested in this phone but want higher specs, you have TWO options from samsung alone, never mind all the other manufacturers

even then, the xperia z ultra is a better buy for not much more, assuming you can forgive the camera

The screens to big but great deal!!!

the thing to consider about a car is what it will be used for.
need lots of seats? want fuel efficiency? bot racer? room for the golf clubs?
if one takes home £50k a year, a couple of days work will buy you an apple.
£200 per week and it takes 3 weeks to buy one.
only the poor attach value an apple.
to the rich an apple has little value.

the argos advert, clever rebranding. No?

The rubbish camera and lack of flash are annoying on the Z Ultra but I'd still take the Sony every day over the Samsung as the lack of storage, lack of support (Samsung have abandoned this model at 4.2 I believe) and low end processor are bigger issues plus the Sony has the bonuses of a better screen, weather sealing and they've announced support for Android Lollipop (currently has Kitkat). I did like the Mega and considered a purchase but it's just far too expensive, it should be a much cheaper phone with its budget specification.

One Plus One........
I'd say ram is good, but I expect a faster processor at that price, the large screen is ok although pixelated compared to others, however for someone like me 5" screen is more than good enough and for the general majority who can't fit such a large phone in their pocket. Not to mention the Adreno 305 will suffer in terms of graphics due to the larger screen, so it loses performance in that regards, isn't great for those who play games.
