Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - Argos and John Lewis - £318.00 - White and Silver/Grey available

The £318.00 price tag for the Galaxy Note 10.1 is spreading. Available now at John Lewis and Argos for the same price. Obviously you miss out on the Quidco/TCB that you would get if buying from Tesco, as well as the Clubcard points. However, some people just prefer John Lewis for the service. Also, at Argos you can get the Silver model for £318 which as far as I am aware is the cheapest price yet for it (as it had remained unavailable or £399 elsewhere).

I should mention that the £50 cashback is still available, so an actual effective cost of:

£318 - £50 (cashback) = £268.

All I need now is a decent case that doesn't cost £30+. Anyone have any ideas?

Links to stores in first post (hopefully)

Silver is now available at £318 at JL too (Will add link below) As far as i know this is the cheapest that you can get the Silver/Grey one for.

I brought the genuine Samsung galaxy note 10.1 case from Ballicom Internation. Cost about £28 but its slim and stylish compared to others on the market. But I guess it's what you pay is what you get!

That's the one I've been looking at. How was the free delivery from Ballicom?

I think it is for purchases up until 31 December 2012. You have to submit your claim between 15 and 60 days after your purchase (again, I think).

£10 Argos voucher is only available until Sunday but can be spent any time up until 24 December.
Should also mention that it may make it easier to price match in Currys if you aren't bothered about a £10 Argos voucher. I know some people had issues with getting them to match Tesco's online price. If you do this you should be able to get it for around £310 from Currys.
The 10pound voucher at argos, is only redemable on a further online perchase. so you DONT GET THE £10 OFF the purchase of the note. You only get the £10 voucher to spend on a further purchase

Laura
Yes, but then you have a £10 voucher, so the effective cost of the tablet is £258 (assuming you use the voucher).
The cashback offer you have yo wait 15 days before claiming and no longer than 60 days, has anyone claimed the cashback and actually got it ok?....true that you have to wait 15 days before claiming?

I agree that JL are great to deal with but they didn't have the silver/grey one reduced unfortunately. You could probably go through their price match procedure if you wanted to.
I'm waiting for this to hit £150.
I bought 2 yesterday on price match from currys. Was refused a price match 3 days before in another branch, but guiseley branch happy to match Argos. Yes, you have to buy a case, but it clearly states any case, so the assistant suggested I pick a 97p case from their clearance bin!

So cost => £369 advertised price - £51 price match (to Argos price of £318); - £5.10 (10% of the price difference) + 97p for case
Amount paid = £313.51
With £50 samsung redemption and £30 currys redemption due in 30 days
total to buy £233.51

Can't say fairer than that for a brand new tablet!!
I don't understand where the - £5.10 comes from?
10% of price difference
Can't seem to get silver one at lower price from Argos.
Nope, has anywhere got the silver for 318?
Doesn't look like it. As OP I managed to get a Silver one and I must be honest, I much prefer it to the white one. Just posted a deal for the official Samsung case to go with it too here.
****. Ta. Case looks good. I'm on a mission for a decent Pink case on behalf of Santa for my little girl lol. Looks like a pcworld price match and a cheap case is the best deal with £80 cash back.

You can. I did pricematch with them for a telly and a treadmill. Plus they give 2 year warranty on tablets.
5% Quidco as well at currys.

This is officially not allowed and you will be lucky to get a manager who will let you do this.
How does this compares to the Galxy Tab2 that's roughly £100 cheaper?
Damn, should I sell my Asus TF300 to get this? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

This is a quad core CPU and has the Wacom Tablet with the pen (you write properly). Well worth it if you want to write - tried it on note 2, excellent.

However I am concerned about the build quality - how does this compare to the original galaxy tab 10.1?

The note i believe has a quad core processor where the tab 2 has a slower dual core processor so the note will be more responsive and perform better in general. Id love a note myself but having recently bought a galaxy tab 2 10.1 i think i'll wait a while for it to come down in price.
Got the Grey one last week from JL with staff discount, knocked an extra £40 off
Anyone know what kind of internet security is best for the Samsung Tablets?
These are getting so cheap now. Makes me doubt buying the N7 when this is only a little more :-/ So many choices hah

Build quality is excellent. When people and reviewers complain about the build quality what they are actually saying is they do not like tablets made with plastic. The back of the tab has some give because it is plastic but it is clearly a well made device.
Had a play with this, very impressed.
Saw this review linked on a previous deal and the reviewer really slates the Note 10.1..

Anyone who takes that review seriously didn't read the review. I personally think this tablet irrespective of price is the best currently out.

Great screen quality (as good as my ipad 3 but not as good resolution)
Excellent sound quality
Brilliant pen
Micro SD
One of the most powerful processors (currently out benching the nexus 10)
Most comfortable 10" tab to hold

Only downsides to me is it isnt as nice looking as some tablets but the comfortable form factor makes up for that
Don't forget that John Lewis recently joined in Nectar eStores so you can bag a bit of £back there (as well as them being in a few of the frequent flier type programmes eg Virgin's).
