Finger print sensor is very poor and the camera is bordering on a joke. I got this phone last year to "upgrade" from my Huawei P30 Pro.. and I've not been able to get rid of my P30 Pro yet because this Samsung is so poor I now need the P30s camera (I have toddler and take a lot of pics). Okay if you are not bothered by photos and if you don't need a battery to last all day with moderate use.

Sounds like you have a faulty device.

    Fair enough

Wish I could say it was broken as I previously was a big Samsung fan in the mobile space. But when I'm shot of this due to my soured experience I'm jumping ship to Sony (perhaps). Would have stuck with Huawei had the Google dump / trade war sanctions not taken place as they are light years ahead with tech.. but alas, it is what it is.

I had a note 20 ultra and I thought battery life was great
  17. Avatar
I went from Note10+ for £300 (awesome phone and I kept it for a year) to Note 20 Ultra for £460 (slight improvement but worse battery so I got rid of it after 2 months) and decided to try to 'get by' with a cheaper device, so I recently picked up the X2 Pro for £270 and I prefer it to both of them. All private purchases.

I've been up since 7am, it's now 11am. I'm at 58%. Very moderate use. Listened to some Spotify for a bit (40 minutes - via Bluetooth headphones, screen off), replied to a couple of emails, jumped on Amazon a couple of times and HUKD. I'd say far from great.

I know US models have a generally better overall user experience due to their Samsungs having different processors to us in Europe (who get far inferior ones) - this also boosting battery life.

To bring it back to my concurrently run device, the Huawei P30 Pro - this can still be hammered for a day and the battery life shows far greater life than this Note 20 Ultra.

No micro SD on that though. Plus suspect Samsung still giving us the 2nd rate version

There's something odd about Android, or maybe Samsung's software. I find on my Note 10+ battery life is still great more than 2 years in, but perhaps after a month or so, battery life suddenly becomes poor. A reboot solves it. As though there's some rogue process that Android isn't killing off properly.

Don't have any of those issues, and this is one of the best phones I've owned. Sounds like a faulty phone. The pictures the camera takes are exceptional, and I have toddlers as well if that makes a difference.

I have this phone which I upgraded to from a Note8 which was fantastic until it basically became unusable due to the battery only lasting a couple hours.
This is a fantastic phone and the camera quality is exceptional IMHO.
But battery life isn't great. I do get a day's moderate use out of it mind, but tweaked the settings such as enabled Dark mode, l turn off the likes of location, bluetooth, etc. and only enable when needed.
But it's still the best phone I've owned and hopefully with software updates, battery performance might improve to make it perfect for me.
Note: I often run the Device Care option to keep it optimised.

I paid double for the Snapdragon version when it was first released and so glad I did.
    It's been flawless.

I use it with my drone, video editing, photo editing, multi tasking, time lapses and it never skips a beat.

Camera quality is so good that I don't mind leaving my main Canon/Fujifilm cameras at home because this is so capable.

These should come down in price when the s22 ultra is officially announced and released. So may be worthwhile holding out, like i am.
  32. Avatar
This still doesn't tempt me from my Note 9 512gb as the battery life and camera is still amazing on it. Switchy you've had them all what do you think this is like compared to the Note 9 512gb (as the 512gb has more ram than the 128gb version)?

i'll be interested in what the S22 Ultra brings to the party. i have to admit i'm using my iphone XS Max loads now too if Apple introduced a stylus for the pro max models i'd be sold just for the software support of 5 years + as the one thing the Note 9 sucks for is no more updates and stuck on android 10 one ui 2.5. I gave up with roms years ago so won't be bothering with those ever again.

I'll be brutally honest for a good day use put it on battery saving mode for the 60hz 4g but to use without it for the 120hz 5g, it will last almost half a day. I'm typing on a note 20 ultra btw. Oh, the heat from the phone keeps me warm during the cold days.

They will, the discontinuation of the series has helped them remain valuable.

The s22 ultra however takes over from the bite and includes the own with similar note shape and design.
