I've got the note 8, and I love it. People say that the fingerprint sensor is in the wrong place, but it's very easy to get used to it.

Not really bothered...
I've not kept up with mobile phones recently, but anecdotally I see a lot who regard the Note 8 very highly - what is the reason for this? Is it not just a larger version of the 8 or 8plus? Or, is there some other fundamental improvements?
Has a stylus and different multi tasking stuff. Note series are great phones, explosive battery in previous aside (phone was good before the recall)
Great fone and if u used it for a day ud understand why people love it.

Amazon.es doing this for about 570. Nearly going to bite at this price to replace a note 5.

I was thinking of buying a refurbed note 5 off eBay as they're going for about £190 for the 64GB version.

Mostly because I want the s-pen and a nice big screen. How would you say the note 5 holds up these days? What are the cameras like on it?

I like the home button on the front of the note 5, but it looks like that's never coming back. Why was it a pain to use the note 8

I've been considering the Note 8 too. Was torn between this and the Pixel XL 2.

Last Note I had was Note 3 which I really liked. Currently using Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X.
Best phone I've ever had. I've had iphones from the very first one up to the 7 and this is in a different league. No issues with fingerprint scanner either, no idea why it caused any concerns....

Got a link for the 64gb?

Need ateast 64gb, ad the note 5 don't have an sd card slot. But for the price, I ain't fussed.
Currently £590 on Amazon. Not sure I understand the benefit of this?
Heat...I was tempted to get the note 8, just to check out the positive reviews about it. But with the Note 9 on it’s way soon and supposedly with better specs...I may just hold on...or will I?
Love my note 8. Left after years of iPhone and not regretted it.

Better off holding out for it. Comes with a much larger battery apparently. Hopefully Samsung quicken up their charging speeds as well.

I think RRP of the note 8 is much higher than £ 669 from reputable high street stores in the UK.Argos,Very,John Lewis, etc sell it well above £700

I did, and it didn't seem anything special in terms of specs, which is why I asked! Is that OK with you?
Very good price you found though!! Voted Hot

Got another 4 months to go when contract finishes then will just need a cheap £5/monthly sim.

When you need a new phone you need a new phone.

Just be happy with what you've got otherwise kick yourself

These days. Most camera take a good pictures. Note 5 camera is fine. It's not a milestone upgrade. It's mostly different to take pictures in the dark. Note 5 is a good phone. You don't missed much.

Yes true but I didn't really need a new phone! Could have waited 4 months more for my current contract to end then could have got an even better bargain!! Hehe

Fingerprint scanner is perfectly fine for me. Perfectly situated where my finger should be. Battery lasts for a day of heavy use. That's my 2 cents. More user experience on note 8 battery. They mostly agree note 8 have a good battery forums.androidcentral.com/sam…tml

Pixel 2 software support is the best. Because it's from Google itself. But I hate that ugly fat bezel of pixel. Been using for note 8 from day 1. Yes, I paid more than 800. Worth every single penny

Software updates aren't so much of a deal breaker for me. In fact some of the changes annoy me like decreasing the brightness of the maximum setting. They did this with the Note 3 and Xiaomi did aswell recently.

Note 8 is winning for me because of 3.5mm jack and form factor.

Same here, ive come from an iphone/iOS background and this was the first phone that tempted me away. Not dissappointed at all, fanatastic bit of kit. Was a easy choice over the iphone X.
