Stupid phone! Call came in and it autosubmitted as I was typing.

Anyway I was wondering if this is a phone I should go with over the likes of the Pocophone or something like that? I got a Redmi note 5 for my partner and we both really like it so now we are switched on to Xiaomi. But I wouldn't mind spending £300-400 on something that has is exceptional value for money with a great spec. Is last year's Note good enough or should I be looking else where?

Also I can't find any record of your opinion of p20 pro? I'm sure you've already said but very curious to know if you think it's worth all of that cash.

Sorry for long rant - I literally never post comments here but i follow your threads religiously and very much appreciate all that you do to help everyone!

I have the note 8 and the battery lasts all day with heavy use

Clearing stock before the price drop after the S10 this month?

I've been muddling around trying to decide which phone to get next for ages. Finally decided on used s8 over new p20 lite. About to pull the trigger and I see this comment. Wonderful. I'll hang on for the s10 release and an s8 price drop. Cheers
Holding out for the grey to be back in stock..

The s8 is still a great phone today trust me. I have a OnePlus 6 and going back to s8 just because I could pick one up so cheap now. The OnePlus is super fast, but prefer the compact size of s8 and miss the display too.

Was it described as good?
Yes.
I'm thinking of going for an S8.

I've not had a decent phone for years; replaced my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with a Moto E4 Plus, which last year I got rid of and replaced with a budget Honor 6A. I'm now sick of that (I like how small it is, but the camera is terrible, and maps and Spotify are basically unusable) so looking for something to replace it.

I don't need top spec (far from it), but I want a decent camera, and something with an all day battery. I'm not a heavy user really, I don't do games and apart the above, plus Instagram and Strava I don't use many apps. With that in mind, and a budget of ~£200, am I thinking that a "good" Galaxy S8 would be a decent option here?

Just Got my note 8 'good condition'. I can say that except a few tiny scratches on the screen, the phone is mint. Also, it came the dual sim version, which is a plus for me. I will install all the apps on it and see how does thr battery perform in the next few days.

Lol
I already have S9 and nothing wrong with it, though obviously Note 8 has bigger screen . I could trade my phone in and pick up a Note 8 (good) for a few quid extra. A bit more if I got excellent obviously. Would you consider S9 to Note 8 as an upgrade or downgrade? Would you advise against swapping the two?
Edited by: "jacksoncage" 12th Feb
Just received my pristine Note 8. It came with the film placed back on it and I would have said that it had been tried and put back in the box. However, I installed Samsung Phone Info and it says there has been 353 battery cycles and the battery is at 94.5%.

You know what. That seems good enough to me. This still has a year's warranty and costs about a third of what it orignally cost. I hope my use doesn't show up any problems with it.

Thanks OP. I hope this lasts a bit longer than my Note 4, which had the memory corruption issue and is now just a brick.

More of a side step really, the 9 only came out 5 months after the note 8, so apart from screen size, there really isn't much in it.
Why am i always SO slow with these deals Went online to get an excellent phone either S8, S8+, Note 8 and they're all sold out, in-fact one of them has a -1 stock level LOL
Do they give out more phones during the day or is this ALL the stock they have. Was going to get a poccophone but for these prices why bother. Hope they come back in stock

i had issues with the voucher code EITHER being applied but then showing error further down process, OR not being applied at all. I have been in touch with the company. Code is still valid for use up until Sun 24 Feb. Told me if problem with using code then to pay in full and contact them with order number and they will refund the discount.

353 battery cycles... that's not so 'pristine'.

I guess some sloppy practices are potentially being uncovered...

(Reseller doesn't even bother to check charging cycles before grading: unbelievable)

My s8 arrived yesterday. The condition is great, but it won't update from android 7. I've contacted Samsung who said it's because it shouldn't be used in the UK. I don't want to avoid the warnity with manually flashing roms.
Am I the only who missed out on the dual sim note 8. It seems like everyone else got one except me! Anyone wanna swap Lol

Fantastic Amazon Germany deal just a few days ago, now expired
Finally bit the bullet and ordered, I must be mad. 🤪

Will update if its in a better than "good" condition, and if its the dual sim

The gold one, best colour IMHO.
Cheers Mrswitch. Mine arrived yesterday. It was a 'good' Note 8. I'd describe it as pristine to be honest there's not a single mark on it,118 battery cycles too.

I did email them nicely asking them to send me a dual sim version and I got a nice reply saying they'd make sure I got a good model. Very happy with the service, only minor fault although it was advertised, no wall cable.

Pity. It is cheap bargain. So it is grey stock. But will Samsung uk meet the warranty cover?
14 pristine gold units added to the inventory at 8:48, be quick !
Ordered a "good" S8 in black. After careful consideration between this and the vastly cheaper Huawei P10. Hope I've made the right decision!
Ordered and recieved S8+ in pristine condition.

indeed it is in pristine condition (externally) but Battery Discharge Cycles - 535 - Battery Health 87.37% - so not really “pristine” at all!

Dammit. My “Excellent” condition phone has a shallow 1cm scratch on the glass in the middle of the screen- presumably it’s been mislabeled? Any advice? I guess I could just return it, but no other similar phones in stock now *sigh*
