Features include a suite of S Note templates and tools that allow you to create, edit, manage and share documents, as well as seamless multi-tasking thanks to Quick Command, continuous text input and Multi-Window View which means the portable 8" screen can be split and used to access a number of live applications at the same time.

Well.. not many diffs.. few are 189ppi (10" - 149ppi), 1600MHz Quad core (1400MHz), 1920x1080 - 1080pHD -30fps recording (720p HD)..

I don't have one of these, but I'm surprised at the comment. I can see that something phone-sized is pocketable, but anything larger is going to have to go in a bag/briefcase. Does it then make any difference whether it's 8" or 10"?

My nexus 7 fits into my pockets, well some of them like inside jacket, cargo pants and some others.

You can't write on it as easily though - the big advantage of these and the old HTC Flyer was the ability to use it to write on like pen and paper

only idiot will go for this at such price

Excellent device however expensive. It's a launch price people. If it was an apple equivalent it would need a mortgage. Stop crying.

Samsung got a bigger mouth than Apple, I don't like Samsung now, Can't believe nearly 100 more than Ipad Mini. Samsung selling Galaxy S4 at a price higher than Iphone 5, a lot more than its S3 and I don't c much upgrade. It is doing what Apple has done in the past but Apple is the only pioneer in the past.(Iphone 3 & 4 era). Just copying similar marketing and pumped money in adverts to fool consumers. Its greedy.

I'll probably sell my Nexus 7 and get one of these - s-pen, slightly bigger screen, more RAM, faster processor, multi window, expandable memory. Might wait for it to dip under £300 though. Still voted hot.

Its a let down . I am waiting for this device no matter how temping the price of Nexus 7. Used tab 2 7.0 before and personally feel that the screen need a bit bigger for browsing the internet. Later played a Ipad Mini and feel so good but put off by out dated hardware. So I think Note 8 will be the device I should buy as it is made as Ipad Mini alternative. The reason to go for a smaller screen is 10" tablet is too heavy for long hours usage. For this price, I 'd better go for Xperia tablet Z or even a retina display Ipad, just pay a little bit more. Or wait for the Nexus 7.7 in July, like the Nexus 4, a bargain top quality tablet , Eh Nexus 10 is just the same price as this Note 8........

Would rather get 2x Nexus 7 or a Nexus 10.

Expandable memory is limited to media. Apps can nolonger be transferred to the micro sdcard. Well not with much ease anyway.

Though the Nexus is lacking things such as HDMI which has held me back from picking one up again.

Hot, because it is not an Ipad.

Android 4.2 will sort out your HDMI issue, miracast like airplay transfer wirelessly to TV.

From S3 last year and Note 2 this year - bored of the look now. Like Ford with their cars, fiesta -> focus, look too similar.

Comp. agree with Dinging (post above) - Samsung ask too much now.

Errrrrr this is so expensive because its also a mobile phone

You're sure ...absolutely sure. Just because the title doesn't say 3g doesn't mean it isn't so. This was launched as a phablet which is a a combination phone tablet.....it would be difficult to justify the price otherwise - even apple couldn't....

Anyway not just me The Inquirer thinks you're wrong theinquirer.net/inq…339
