Love my note, knock off the sim and its a cheap fone. Heat good deal.
Is the Note 9 5G compatible?
I have the Note 8 and wondering if I should wait for the 10 or pick up a 9 but want it future proof

Note 9 is not a 5G phone. You'll have to wait until a 5G version of the Note 10 gets released if you don't wanna go for the S10 5G variant or other 5G phones from OnePlus or OPPO.
How is this going cold when it's the best deal at present for the Note 9, but a deal for a £5 Argos voucher (where you have to spend £50 to get it) gets loads of heat?

This site is odd.

It’s probably the legacy from the carry on from the affordable mobiles deals last month and the hassle people had.

Like I said people on this website are cheapskates and don't want to pay for high end products.
Only reason it must have gone cold is due to deals Amazon prime day last 2 days and also note 10 round the corner....
Buy direct from Samsung and get sim only much cheaper

Not much cheaper is it. And a bigger outlay upfront... this is £0 upfront and only £36 every month.
Best mobile on the market, had mine since launch at its flawless
Heat
Then there’s the 512GB Note 9 on the same website, free upfront on Vodafone unlimited for £36 a month...

Wondering whether to go for it now or wait until the note 10 comes out to see if these Note 9 contracts get any better
