This is going to get hot!

Really good deal. I paid over £500 for mine just 3 months ago! Gutted. Heat added.

I got the white one from asda a month ago for £369.

The official flip case is highly recommended.

Great price. I got one a couple of weeks ago & I absolutely love the handset. I even made a call on it the other day too!

In combination with a GiffGaff or 3 sim only deal this is a VERY good deal.

but its not protecting the screen

Surely people looking at this phone can justify the extra 100 for the far superior S3?

As nice as the Note is, the Touchwiz UI is the worst thing to ever grace a mobile device. Runs like garbage, and looks like garbage.

Far superior????

Smaller worse screen, no spen, feminine looks, etc etc

I have this phone....Fast and brilliant...Doesn't feel too big once you get used to its size.....

This is a good price, particularly considering who the trader is but to be honest you can get them for less than this if you are willing to shop around.

I bought mine from eBay brand new for £300 all-in and factory unlocked and that was for the (usually more expensive) white model. It is a great phone though and iOS has been dead to me since around 5 minutes after I received it.

Absolutely agree with pretty much everything that you have said including the comment on cases. The seller I bought mine from was singing the praises of the Samsung flip cover but I opted for an Elago TPU case instead because I don't really like cases that stand out and having a flip case is a bit like carrying your Blackberry in a holster in my opinion (i.e. it makes you look like a ****).

not really, after the update my Note battery doesn't last a day and the phone hangs a lot !!
Avoid ICS for now, otherwise phone is brilliant with GB !!

Also agreed.

Have a gel and a flip case. Use the gel one. The screen is gorilla glass anyway so unless you keep it in a bag/pocket with a load of keys and change, it'll be fine. Mine is.

I considered waiting for the S3 but got this instead and love it. It's plenty fast enough. Doubtless the S3 is a faster processor but you won't pick one of those up (without a load of contract faff) for this sort of price.

Interestingly, a mate of mine develops Android games and we were doing a bit of testing using his One X and my Note and despite the One X being a more powerful phone, things actually seemed to run more smoothly on the Note. The One X would peak higher (in terms of FPS rendered etc) but the Note was much more consistent.

Not my experience. I installed ICS as soon as I got mine (from Amazon) and have had no major issues with it. Battery lasts all day unless I'm using it very heavily. Certainly lasts a lot better than my original Galaxy S used to .... and also better than the gf's iPhone4 ....

i keep getting this strange green screeen since i updated to ics... like when a laptop screen goes funny

Odd that this deal is hot when this deal is potentially £100 cheaper and even if cashback doesn't work out it's still cheaper. Potentially you could get the phone for £275

OK it is a little bit of work but not exactly that much for a saving of £100.

ICS works fine on mine but it was supplied from the factory with ICS pre-installed on it.

To this day I have never used Gingerbread, I don't even really know what the AOS 2.3 GUI looks like to be honest.

That one is cheaper but has loopholes and a credit check to jump through. If you are just looking to get the phone sim free with no obligations and the standard 2 year Samsung warranty then this deal works out to be much simpler.

May be worth noting (no pun intended) .... it still seems to be slightly cheaper on amazon.de ....

Best phone I have ever owned. It trumps my work provided 4S in almost every department One day all smartphones will be this cooll.

does anyone genuinely not think this phone is too big to be a PHONE?

I am very very tempted. The only thing my S2 lacks is a bigger higher res screen.....but the other day they reported the NOTE 2 would be released in August? I expect to find the NOTE 1 for £300 on hukd in September

Like an earlier poster said, only those who don't have one.

The only phone I would have opted for over this was the S3 but even compared with that the Note still has it's advantages.

nevakillmonkeys

does anyone genuinely not think this phone is too big to be a PHONE?

Yes.

I have owned MUCH bigger phones than this and never thought them to be too big at the time. Back in the early 90's my orignal Orange Motorola weighed 3x as much and had just an 8 hour battery life. In the late 90's and early 00's, phones went "micro", but now the benefitis of larger screens are driving sizes upwards. So long as it fits into an average trouser/jeans pocket (or handbag), it is small enough.

Edited to say that the next iPhone is likely to offer a 4.2"er. That is halfway betwen the current 4S and GNote. Phones are getting bigger because bigger is more useful, especially for full screen web browsing and office utilities. It will not be long before fully capable PC/Mac clones are shrunken into a mobile phone format. Being a "phone" is now becoming a secondary feature.
