Incredible this can be presented as a good deal, with Camel graphic to boot - am I living in alternative universe?

This phone is last year's Sammy flagship, not even best in family, that honour goes to S10+, Note line

Sorry OP to be this blunt, must have got up on wrong side of bed today - one of few times I voted cold a non-Apple deal

Is it available for less elsewhere at the moment?

Damn good question

Probably not, but that doesn't make it a good deal - wait for better price, this one is ludicrous for 1-year old phone, not even best model by manufacturer - with only 128gb storage

Luckily we have lots of choice in a competitive smartphone market.

Does that make it a deal? Surely to be a deal it has to represent good value, not just be the lowest price. If it's not worth the price, it can't be a hot deal can it?

What is a better alternative on price for something with similar size? Oneplus too big for me, especially the oneplus 7/7 pro, same for Xiaomis

Agree it's an old model but it appears that supply and demand dictates the price. If people are willing to buy at a given price, its not likely to drop until demand decreases

You have to take brand value into account. Same goes for products in other sectors eg retail or car industry

This same model available for £100 less from Wowcamera, deal posted by MrSwitch that went reasonably hot - I didn't vote hot though then as I prefer to buy UK not European version

Dual SIM about £500 with fee-free card, Amazon Germany

Also from Wowcamera, 256gb Note 10 at this price, arguably a better phone (not grey imports)

This is good deal for another brand, similar class:

If I wanted the cheapest current price I'd use a price comparison website. Its called hotukdeals not bestcurrentukpricenow

"hi guys check out my new phone, it was a really hot deal. Got it for the cheapest it was available last Tuesday"

Personally I would wait if i were in the market for a phone, given the S20 is out soon. Was an honest question, but still not sure I'd vote cold on something if it's the best price around at the moment. I might not vote hot, but at least it's doing a job in letting anybody know where it can be bought from at the lowest price if they want/need it *now*.

What represents 'value' is pretty subjective isn't it? For somebody who wants this particular phone right now, it might be the best value price they can get for it.

Maybe lowest price from good UK retailer atm, but still deeply unsatisfactory imho. Better wait for better deal if you're buying/better price if you're posting

I'm not sure what your point is. Aren't most deals posted here the cheapest that they are available for at any given time? All the time we see stuff going hot that has been available at a cheaper price somewhere previously. By your logic this shouldn't happen, whereas in reality it helps people who may have missed out on the better price in the past. Amazon class this as a deal, the OP thinks it's the best price around right now for this item from a UK supplier, why shouldn't it be shared? I bought some earbuds recently that were posted on here, they'd been posted before for a couple of quid less but I missed it first time around. It was still good that it was posted as the price was still lower than when they're not on offer.

Note 10 is too big for me. I'm looking 5.2-5.8 inches max.

Pixel 3 is already outdated but the biggest issue is only 64gb of storage and no sd card. In one year is gone, need a new phone

You've made up some silly logic and then said it's mine!

Yes all deals are the cheapest available on the day. This does not mean all cheapest on the day prices are deals. Try applying that same logic to anything... It's nonsense. All cats are mammals, so all mammals are... Cats? Meow.

You are describing a price comparison website. They are easier to automate and have 10000x more items than HUKD. If you want to buy an s10 today, type it into Google and you'll find this price.

HUKD is for when something is a "hot deal" hence the name.

HUKD is for when *people* decide something is a "hot deal" and vote for it as such. One man's hot deal is another man's "I still don't think this is good enough value, so I'm not voting it hot until the price drops some more". It's how the site works...the public decide what constitutes a hot deal, not the vendors. I'm sure we can all recall seeing stuff go hot that we personally think is a bad price for what it is, but it may just be that it's the lowest price it's available for at that time. We only ever post *potential* deals. After that it's in the hands of the HUKD electorate.
