It's now on their coverage checker

I hope that's going to be updated from today. Their 5g being "live" in my city...the area it's live is about the size of a football pitch.

Surely they can't be serious if that's what they consider live in a city

Do you know that they plan to roll out their 5G for mobiles by tomorrow (end of February 2020)? I am not going to give too much of hope to it though. I had to use WiFi in many areas. It’s not ideal when using open WiFi.

Get it repaired under warranty then? Stuff happenes?
You can save a lot more on this through QuidCo
You might want to return the item to the seller or at least ask the seller to repair it.

Yeh I spoke to three and they said there's something wrong with the signal or something. But when I check three 5g coverage for my city it shows literally like two football pitches sized area. That's pretty shocking like me saying I own bitcoin when I own 1p worth.
Brilliant phone only thing that stopped me buying was no memory card slot so went for the note 10+
What's the general view on moving to 5g? I have a 6g ready SIM, but should I bite the bullet and get a 5g phone or is it too soon? I have a Note 9 which I love, so eyeing a deal like this one.

TBH, they have recently removed the signal coverage checker where it will show whether the coverage of your area is affected. I love 3UK for their customer service but the network coverage is just bad. I am excited for 5G but less optimistic in them trying to upgrade their existing 4G to 4G+. We can only hope.

I'd say just wait until the perfect deal comes along. Size wise this will probably be a bit of a downgrade from the Note 9 so you'd want to look at the S10+ if that's going to be a problem.
/edit
It's actually a bigger phone than the S10+ as mentioned by psycho_terror, so ignore that bit.

I've got a S10+ already and its easily my favourite phone ever, so will probably sit it out for another generation and live with 4G speeds. I tend to go from home to work and have decent speed WiFi available at both, so 5G is obviously less useful for me. If you use excessive amounts of data on your phone then you'll obviously get more value out of 5G

Yes, having 4G+ is a good sign. It means that you have access to more than one frequency. This is a good sign. However, what is equally important is that you are able to utilise the 4G+ technology, e.g. you should have better speeds and more stable downloads and uploads as compared to 4G. I am quite sad as I may have 4G shown on my mobile phone but I can’t surf the internet due to issues with 3UK’s mast around my area.

At best I get 100mb down and like 20mb up in my house on 4g+. Latency isn't amazing though like 30

It will be at least another year before 5g is everywhere in the UK. Especially for three (their silly ad with if its not three it's not real 5g).
Brilliant phone, large screen on par with note 10, enough storage space and comes with a headphone jack which is really important to me. Battery life on this phone is the best; lasts all day this includes heavy gaming, youtube videos in 1080 and social media. Switching between games, videos and social media with the 8GB ram is a breeze, no lag or slow animations thanks to One UI 2.0 operating system.
Phone boasts a dual speaker set up so watching films and videos is more immersive. Finally the best thing about this phone is the 6 camera set up with wide angle and time of flight sensor.

Can't recommend this phone enough.

No, I don’t work with them at all. I have to admit that I used their services until yesterday since 2003. You are right, their services is beyond comprehension. That is why I’ve left them for EE.

Nah, this phone is MASSIVE. The S10+ however would be smaller than the Note 9 though not by much.

Note 9 - 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm
S10+ - 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8mm
S10 5G - 162.6 x 77.1 x 7.94mm

Worth noting this phone is also larger than the Note 10 and Note 10+ which I guess makes it Samsung's biggest phone (with the possible exception of the Fold).

Note 10 - 151 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm
Note 10+ - 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm

Damn... My bad! I just assumed it was the same size as a regular S10, but it's a hefty lad by the look of it.
No SD card wtf
Wish the networks would concentrate on making 4G and 4G carrier aggregation work nationwide with minimal holes. Not ready to pay a premium for a patchy 5G service...
montana7828/02/2020 10:12

Can unlock via ebay for £10-11 24hr service

I think you can get 72hr services for about £2.50
As I understand it, the S10 5G & the baseline S20 model do not support the 5G bands that deliver the best 5G speeds. For the 1Gbps full on speeds that 3UK will be offering, you need the S20 Plus & Ultra models. So go for the S10 5G if top end 5G speed is not important for you.
Beautiful phone currently writing this comment from, only downside is the battery life is pretty pretty pretty crap, other thing is it takes sometime to get used to Samsung's version of android it is too controlling for my taste.
montana7828/02/2020 22:16

I had to double check that as my s10 had it

Yup, the s10 5G does not have a microSD card and the phone would only support n78 on the 5G channel. It is also a single SIM as well...
