Wait for the handset to arrive and cancel the airtime portion, you may have to pay for the first month, but they generally reimburse you that first month.

This deal isn't for the faint hearted, and may take a few phone calls to cancel, but stick at it and it should work out.

Topcashback it Quidco may be available too.

Now if you have any kind of other big purchase coming up, you may want to hold of on taking out this particular deal. Because this WILL affect your credit rating.

O2 Refresh explained O2 Refresh lets you change phones whenever you want. It works by splitting your bill into two parts: a Phone Plan and an Airtime Plan.

The Phone Plan is the cost of the phone
The Airtime Plan covers all your calls, texts and data
If you want to upgrade your phone, just pay off your Device Plan and you're free to upgrade while continuing to use your Airtime Plan.

Plus, if you decide to keep your phone once you’ve paid it off, we'll only charge you for your Airtime Plan – so your monthly bill will go down.

Thanks for your effort and hard work @Mrswitch .

I think it’s very decent and thoughtful of you to add the following:

“Now if you have any kind of other big purchase coming up, you may want to hold of on taking out this particular deal.”

Sometimes people don’t think time frames and think ahead. Nice little nudge.

Well I presume that’s what you meant anyway lol

That is exactly what I meant, if I had an upcoming mortgage application, the last thing I'd do is take out a mobile phone contract.
Thanks. Got it for £490 through live chat

many on here have gone through this route and its saved them 1000s in handset prices.probably nothing will come of it.i am currently with 02 hopefully when my contract expires at the end of the year, the s10 range prices would have levelled out.
I wondered what was crazy about it....then I saw users name 😁
any suggestions regarding live chat? seems a tad rude to just go in with "can i have £70 off?"

Na, faceless haha, I'd have no issue but @superthomo has just been offered it, so maybe they can give us a few tips.

Feel free to call me Poo Head
I didn't even have to ask, just used the online chat which pops up on the page when looking at s10, asked them what offers they have and straight away £75 off and a deal for either 20gb or 40gb with USA worldwide coverage, I think it was £25 for the higher one for 1 month.

Note it does take a solid hour to go through the sales process and if you applied for the affordable mobiles deal yesterday you might fail credit check
This was posted already btw and the deal for £250 off says in store ends on July 4th.

with 5G on the doorsteps, how future proof these phones are. As three network are going to launch 5G this year in 8 big cities of the UK. Three never charged extra for the 4G data so I hope they do the same thing this time too with the 5G. Once 5G is available, these 4G mobiles will soon be obsolete technology.

Obselete, Is 4g slow? 4g will be around for many years to come, and that will make these excellent phones even more massive bargains

5G mobiles will be working on 4G networks as well. They will be compatible with the 4G as well as 5G. so everyone will be switching to 5G phones instead, to get benefited with the fast data speeds where available.

But to say these phones will be Obselete is a bit of scaremongering.
Good deal if you are ready to go throgh the whole process however OP has explained everything in detail so it should be ok . Heat added for sure.

Would you buy a 3g only capable phone now?
@Mrswitch I've noticed you post loads of phone deals, wonder if you could help? I'm needing a new phone and not sure which, A50 or A70 (worth the price difference for the A70?) Also cashback with them or wait for K20 (not sure when that's going to be available in UK?)

Nope! However, Everything will eventually be obsolete, but to leave a comment as the user did above, especially when 5g won't be used universally for a good while is wrong in my opinion.

I'd choose the A70 out of the two, I just prefer the bigger screen and battery in all honesty.

Given the choice of all 3 I'd go for the k20, as that seems like its the better all rounder.

But if you need one here and now, it's the A70 for me.
Refresh tips please.... Do I need to put sim in phone to cancel? Do I cancel airtime as soon as I receive phone? Should I ask for unlock code before I cancel airtime?

Fair enough. Honestly I thought the same as you just last week but now after hearing 5g is being rolled out in 8 cities by one provider, imo it can't be very long at all before 4g looks like old tech.

I'd give it two years before I'd worry about it.and usually most people upgrade .You can always look out for a trade in deal if you're that worried. Great find

Agreed, I got two £5 sim only for my kids rather than PAYG a few years ago and it effected my credit score in a negative way.

Like I say, I've given the warning, I can't do much more
Strange it works at one place but when I go from 02 refresh direct it doesn't work
thank op for the deal, got £75 discount and hopefully if this works, the cost of the phone will be circa £500
Samsung the most popular and expensive Android phone also has the most amount of bloatware
The fastest depreciating smartphone you can buy.Just look at the trade in price for this.Theres a reason it's cheap.
