I wonder if anyone here has tried this before....

he terms state that the trade-in device must meet minimum standards, and if it doesn’t then I could face a surcharge of up to £100. I have an S9 with a damaged screen that will definitely fail minimum standards checks, but they will give me £325 discount for the S9, so even if I take the £100 charge on the chin, I am getting £225 for an S9 with a damaged screen.

Is that how it would play out?

Not sure how well that would work but if I had a phone they would give that much for I would definitely take a shot as that would be a killer price.
Incidentally I am really liking this phone so far.
It is tiny by current standards so with a case on it feel the same size as other smallish phones do naked.
The size of it show that there is no reason for the removal of headphone jacks on most flagships either

I have sent them Galaxy S7 with cracked screen. Trade in value was £200. Yes they charged me £100 so still very good price for a phone with damaged screen. So I believe same will be in your situation.
Wiuld have preferred the 90 quid off than headphones but I missed that boat

As @quake.ee has shown - might well get a decent discount, even with the broken screen, as long as the rest of the phone is in good condition?

If you get it sent off as soon as you get the return packaging and keep the new phone sealed while they inspect it, you can always return the phone and ask for the S9 back if you are not happy with the trade in price?

Don't even have to keep the new handset sealed as inspection can take up to 3 weeks.

Yes, probably quite safe to use it and return it if there are issues with the valuation - but I am not that chilled with these sorts of things

It says would hear from them within 10days if there is a problem with the minimum requirements. I'm tempted to do this too, I will get £150 for my broken s8 👌

Nah that never worked as they say it is too many trade in devices to assess. It's the same with 2 weeks to return your old handset. They even say don't worry as long as you send it back in:)
Does anyone know how long we have to return the phone if they decided they wanted all trade in back? Would it need to be in packaging?
So is it 569 including trade in or 569 with the trade in already?

669 - 100 trade in = 569
quake.ee08/06/2019 09:32

669 - 100 trade in = 569

Yeah but that is confusing as it assumes someone has a phone to be traded in, so deal price should not really be 569 imo.

It clearly states that this price is achievable with 100 trade in discount. Nothing is confusing.

Thanks very much for the reply, that's great news!
