this phone is the best phone on the market, and this is a good deal, … this phone is the best phone on the market, and this is a good deal, forget the 4s rip-off from apple, i have the samsung s2 and it's great and i have the iphone 4 which is o.k, but the samsung is the best allrounder it is really fast and takes beautiful photos, videos, connects to internet as quick as you like, battery life is good, camera is the best, if you want the best smart phone around then buy the samsung s2, the apple iphone 4s as'nt got a touch on the samsung believe.

Agree. Samsung s2 is the best phone in the current market.
New Apple iPhone fails to wow investors, fans.

I hear all this talk of 'wait for the next big thing and the price will drop'. And yeah, the price on ANY tech will eventually start to drop when newer products hit the market but unless you can afford the 'next big thing' (whatever that thing may be), then you have to be content with the products that preceded the latest 'big thing'. With mobile phones, there's also the contract to consider. You can have a fantastic device as long as you pay a set amount of money every month (a mobile phone contract). That being the case, the sooner you jump into that contract, the sooner you'll be out of contract and moving onto the next 'biggest thing'!

So I say to all those out there wondering and waiting for the 'next big thing' to launch so they can get this device slightly cheaper... stop waiting! Jump in and get this phone now! BUT... if you can afford the upfront costs, go for the 12 month deal and you'll be moving on to the 'next big thing' sooner than the rest of the crowd who are still sitting waiting and wondering!

I know you're angry (heck, if I just started a £30 a month for 2 years contract for an old phone and then saw this, I'd be mad too) , but please slow down when you type. Perhaps we could have a whip-round to buy them a new keyboard?

I'm an accountant. They can't charge you the VAT because they have not … I'm an accountant. They can't charge you the VAT because they have not provided the service. That's the law.

The phones cost is mixed with the contract, so they can charge you VAT as they have sold you the phone, albeit in a monthly price.

It just shows how good this phone because it hasn't really dropped in price since release - I paid less at release buying it from O2. Lots of ROM's on XDA and the KI3 based ones have improved the phone alot.

Easily the best phone I've ever used or owned.

How does it compare to the Xperia Arc you sent back mate?

haven't had a play yet as its charging but first impressions are its a better quality/built device and feels much better in the hand. non of the creakiness (and awkwardness for my relatively small hands) that I had with the xperia. Also much better looking to my mind. Not sure if its worth the extra yet but at least porting should be ok and I'm not dealing with talkmobile! I have always had pretty good service from 3 and they were recently very helpful when my daughter bought a blackberry.

if you look around you will see that three use orange out of coverage of their 3g masts (they used to use O2 I think). There vis some talk of it having been turned oof but my daughters new blackberry on 3 certainly keeps going on to orange when we are in poor signal areas.

The SG2 has a GPS chip inside and does not require a network signal to work. Some software can use the network as well to give a faster and cruder fix and this will require a signal, although if there isn't one it should just use the GPS fix

Ordered the mobile, got it in 4 days. Noted the seal was broken. Called Affordable Mobiles to say if I can have a different one as the seal broken. They have given me all kind of B*****t but would not change it. Here is a list.
1st.We check it our self to make sure everthing is in the box.
2nd The DPD (delivery company) opens the box to check it is not broken.
3rd We check every 10 box or so for quality purposes.
4th. We put in the sim in the phone to send it to you. I told them the sim came seperately, still waiting for a reply on this one.
Called today as could not wait any longer, now saying cant take it back if the phone is working fine. If "I Want" they will collect the phone and check it "for me", no replacement in the meantime. If the phone is fine I will be sent the same phone again.
A bit pi***d that paid for a new phone and will be using a phone for 24 months which might be refurbished.
Am I the only one they have done this to or as they say every 10th person is getting an open box from Affordable mobile.

I am already with 3 and have been trying to get a deal out of them for this phone but they just do not want to know.
I have managed to get my PAC I am aware I cant just take this contract out and do it that way - What is the best way for me to keep my number?
  19. rheumatoid's avatar
I can't find this deal on their site. ? its a referral link from Omio. Not sure whether TCB would work in that case if pasted URL in. Can anyone find it by starting as affordables site?

I too cannot find this deal if I go directly to the affordable mobiles website. I think I found this deal by clicking through from the uswitch website therefore not sure how cashback would work. I've been racking my brains all week about how to get this for around £20 a month with the handset for a reduced cost.
  23. rheumatoid's avatar
presume its locked and 3 branded?

would people mind posting their experiences with affordable mobiles? they have a real hit and miss reputation online, I'm tempted to take the psp phone deal with them.
*before anyone asks, I've done cashback deals for many years with no real problems. done this with e2save, onestopphoneshop, some other one I forget and with CPW directly also.

ditto, although this is a tempter. If I could find it on their site and be more likely to get TCB I would probably go for it.

decided to go for it. took a chance with TCB
had a chat with them and they say they aren't branded and are unlocked. They don't come with an SD card though.

Considering this has already been out a few months and what with the upcoming launch of the new iPhone and no doubt newer and better Androids on their way I'm expecting we might see some better deals in the weeks either side of Xmas.

HEH iphone so what your phone got a dual core processor get over it.

Like others have said i would personally wait as its nearly christmas where deals happen anyway and they will be dropping prices to combat the iphone 4S. Sorry if i sound like a parrot lol. Might be able to get a deal on a more reliable network.
