Hi,

I've read a load of reviews and this phone seems to be the best of the bunch at the moment pre iphone 5 which isnt out till september.

The deals is:

12 Month Contract
£154.99 for the phone
The best thing is unlimited internet!
£30 per month
Network: Talk Mobile (Which is Vodaphone 99.7% Coverage)

The deal breaker is the calls are expensive if you go over the limit but you could alway use skype for cheap calla as the internet is unlimited.

I figure at the end of twelve months the phone will still be worth more than the layout of £154.99 and by that time the iphone 5 will be out.

the so-called "best phone is the world"

- has no NFC
- only 16Gb
- lack of HDMI port

for these reasons I would not touch this phone with a bargepole

I think that accounts for all phones, laptops or anything wifi created by man. Nothing is foolproof, and there is always a way of breaking into something secure, no matter how much they reassure otherwise. If you read your End User License Agreement (EULA), one of the things manufacturers will always tell you is that they are not responsible for your data. That was in mind in the event of it ever being stolen, and that's also why no one can sue Sony, for example.

Also, good deal! Personally, I'm very comfortable with HTCs, but I'm keeping an eye on this one. Don't forget £46 Quidco!

Only real issue with your deal is, it's not true.
Apart from that fact, it's cracking.

Talk mobile deal is 24 months at £30 a month.
Not so hot afterall.

and the only issue with your post is you cant read :p, its 12 months , the 24 months one comes with free phone and more minutes.

I have enjoyed reporting trolls since yesterday. Hope the mods act on your stupidity. Otherwise not a bad deal but I am waiting for something better as this one has been available with E2Save as well for a while. At the beginning it was only £110 upfront but only for a day.

Android is a better gimmick than iPhone, thats pretty much how it is, you can't do any serious work on the iPhone or Android. If you wan't to do some serious work you need a Linux based phone (Android is not linux - it's Dalvik on a Linux kernel).

Anyway back to the topic at hand, this was £110 a week or so ago, they put it up by £50 since, even so I still think it's a good deal - if you sell the phone (~450), you get 400mins, 1000txts and 1GB internet for pretty much free! Which is significantly better than the SIM only deals we have on here. Is is it just me or has the IQ of people on here suddenly gone through the floor?

The phone is fully unlocked, I got mine a yesterday.

What kind of "serious work" are you talking about, and why would one want to do it on something with the form factor of a mobile phone?

The apps I have on my Android phone (Adobe Reader, AndFTP SFTP client, Barcode Scanner, Catch, ConnectBot SSH client, Depth of Field calculator, K9 email, gStrings guitar tuner, LinkedIn, NewRob Google Reader client, Opiekey RFC2289 client, Photo Tools, Sunrise Sunset, WikiDroyd) let me do a certain amount of what I consider to be "serious work".

Samba, SSH, RDP, openoffice 3.0 (the odd .docx document if I'm out and about), bittorrent client (the odd file), vlc remote, wireshark, GIMP (RSS reader, email, etc. are all built in), for everything else I have a full desktop web browser. This kind of power is only available in the N900.

Easy to connect to TV output and use on a larger screen if need be.

And ofcourse being a true linux mobile OS i get all the power of the command line.

Yep 12 month deal.

The link takes you to a 24 month deal, not a twelve month deal. And labelling the price as £155 is a little misleading, as the rental should be factored in for comparison. 12x30 = 360 +155 = £615.

Minus Quidco that would be £569 for the best phone on the market right now plus 400/1000/'unltd internet' (as if 'unlimited' means anything these days - thanks OFCOM!).

An OK price but no need to stampede.

As for the pathetic Apple trolls, pi$$ off back to your walled garden. Those of us who aren't scared of computers, the internet, or freedom of choice will stick to Android.

Since when was 360+155 = 615

When I was at school that = 515

minus Quidco = 469 = effective £39/month over the term inc mions/text/internet and the phone and only a 12 month contract

Dude your math skills are rubbish.

12 x 30 + 155 = 515! Not 615. Total cost assuming quidco is 515 - 46 = 469. (Although mine seems to have tracked at £55).

Still an excellent deal and was even better when the phone was 110 (£424 after quidco).

You can't make calls and its probably very slow - and takes ages too boot into Ubuntu. Not practical, whereas on the N900 I don't need to dual boot, although I can if I wanted do, but it's not of any real use. Openoffice and the like inside Maemo is fine, where I can text, IM and call without rebooting.

biggest tool ever
you post the same kind of thing on every deal for a phone which isn't an iphone

Great price if you are in the market for a Galaxy S2.

Undoubtedly this phone is **** off a shovel but lacks a lot in terms of looks and Touchwiz is in my opinion not a patch on Sense UI.

I think you still have to pay around 40 quid for the privilege of an Apple HDMI port, you can't expand the memory (i.e. you can get a 32GB microSD taking the overall memory to 48GB in this) and NFC might not even make it onto the next iPhone.

Whilst I disagree with the Apple munchers here, I think my Galaxy S is an absolute load of rubbish, so I hope the new one impresses people.
