Are they as good as they say they are?

yes they are, in my experience
Not much difference imo. Wouldn't buy if I can choose again.
Great battery and massive improved battery power over original Samsung.
Very good find! Heat added!
People seem to swear by these batteries, I swear at them.

A good 20-25% worse than the stock Samsung one. I recently ponied up for the extended GENUINE 1900mha Samsung one and it's fantastic easily lasts 25% longer than the standard Samsung one.

If you couple if with a Hydrog3nics ROM you will have a phone that doesn't need to be charged for 2-2.5 days with medium use.

No, they are definately not as good as Samsung branded stock ones. They are good for "compatible" batteries though, but let's be clear, that's not really saying a lot.
I got an Anker battery for my other half's Sensation and she can now go 1.5-2 days on a single charge whereas on the stock battery she had to charge daily.

That said the SGS2 has better battery life but at least I can vouch for the quality.

Is that from first hand experience? I have a few of these, all perform pretty much the same, noticeably inferior to the Samsung ones, occasional overheating during charging when charging inside phone, power drain graph is not a smooth gradient.

When you have 10% battery left on these in the UI, you really have about 3-4%.
Had one for my SGS2 many moons ago. I actually reckon that they are on a par with the factory 1650 battery rather than any better. Good spare battery but not worth buying for extra horsepower lol.

You can vouch for the quality of an Anker battery for a Sensation, you cannot vouch for the quality of an Anker battery for a SGS2, surely. There's a massive bandwagon and although your comments are designed to help, everyone who hasn't actually experienced the use of these batteries sings their praises. (Myself included!!!! until I verified to a fairly high degree they really aren't that good). Not awful, just not better than stock by any means.
I nearly took the plunge for one of them at £9.99 last night. Great deal.
I have this and the batteries last about the same length as the stock battery. I rotate the batteries about, trying always to keep one charged. It's handy for when you know ur phone isn't going to last a night out or for where you can just swap batteries and go instead of needing to have you're phone hooked up to the wall
Not sure if I would stick 3rd party battery into my phone...

You you watch YouTube on your Nokia3210 over 3G or actually over WiFi?

I have three, believe it or not, having lost my spare i decided to go for this one due to the extra battery and charger. In my experience they are a good 10-20% better than stock. Used on my SGS2.
Got one of these, and it's the same or worse performance than stock 1650 mA battery. I would use the, thicker, official 1900 mA one if wanting to extend battery life. Or buy a genuine 1650 for spare, either way can't really recommend this Anker one.
For the record the official one is actually 2000mAh

I just want this charger without the batteries!

I have a 3210 that lasts up to 10-days; I have upgraded it with a DWP chipset and Cachumawr Rom and it is now able to access 3G & WiFi signals without difficulty. I watch the wonder that is YouTube whenever I like, without worrying about battery power Don't believe manufacturer's claims that new is always better.
These things are never what the claim to be. I would be suprised if these are even as good as the Samsung ones.

The only people on XDA developers who have actually tested these things in a consistent way have found them to give (at best) exactly the same performance as the stock Samsung battery (which you would expect given they are the exact same size/weight and technology as the Samsung ones):

Dont buy these things thinking you are getting an improvement, you are not.

Have you also installed that patch, which enlarges your LCD to 5.4 inches and converts it to a touch screen?
What about the camera? Is it stable? Some people say it may freeze time to time...
Even if you only got the same capacity as the original battery, I would say that two batteries and a travel charger (which can charge your phone and spare battery at the same time), manufactured by a reputable company is still a pretty decent deal.

+1
The main point for me is that you *have* a spare. Or 2. And a way of charging them *outside* the phone

And the Nokia comment sounds suspiciously like trolling.
Just saying.

Of course, I didnt mean to sound like I was saying this is a completely terrible deal :P Just take claims of improved battery life with a pinch of salt.
I'm gonna vote cold as the objective reviews say this product is NOT superior to the stock battery,

and two brand new genuine batterys and a genuine charger costs less off the fleabay.

My comment was specifically directed at anyone, just thought that two decent batteries and a charger £12 is a good deal!

last time i looked i couldnt find a cheap one without the batteries. Probably just buy ine if those dock chargers now
I got these for a similar price last year. From my experience, similar performance to stock battery, certainly no worse, and I have had no concerns about quality or overheating etc. I would buy again at this price in a heartbeat, purely for the convenience of having several days of power in my pocket, without ever having to actually wait to charge my phone. Heat from me!

I'm so sorry, I went in 'anti-smug' mode and was careless with the truth DWP and Cachu mawr are both Welsh words, thought someone might have noticed
Had these since October of last year, they perform about the same as stock.
I had one of these batteries in my SGS II, with standard battery if lucky i'd get to night time without having to charge it, with this I still had at least 15% at end of the day so either my genuine battery was substandard or these do as they say.
I purchased the original Samsung extended battery, and must say the improvement in battery life is amazing, no need for a spare for daily use. It should have been the battery the phone came with in the first place, and the flush fit of the new back cover suggests it may well have been the intended battery (no curve at the bottom anymore).

Sorry, what new back cover? The bump at the rear of the S2 is for the speakers...
