Just seen this deal after looking around for ages ... I know it is a 24 month contract but I pretty sure the Galaxy S2 will still be up there with the best even after 2 years ...

The best bit is that until TCB are offering £65.65 until end of today and Quidco currently £50

Here is the blurb about the galaxy that i seems you have to put in ...

Samsung have upped the ante with their stellar Galaxy range with the Galaxy S2, a super-slim super-charged smartphone with multimedia at its very core. Running Android 2.3 and featuring an impressive 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, this handset takes the technological chops of the ultra-successful Samsung Galaxy and gives them a processing boost, completely eliminating and stutters, hangs and lag.

A 4.3" Super AMOLED screen makes it the perfect device for viewing media, and the inclusion of Samsung's own Game and Music hub will help you out in your quest to devour digital content and satisfy all your gaming needs. Samsung's intuitive TouchWiz UI works in conjunction with the supped-up processor to provide a slick and streamlined user experience and makes transitions and navigation seamless.

The 8MP camera with LED flash is great for taking snaps on the go and is also capable of recording video in stunning 1080p HD, giving you the perfect opportunity to capture footage to view back on that 480 x 800 pixel resolution display. A healthy range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack make an appearance, whilst the built-in web-browser supports Flash and HTML, so you'll never be left wanting in the internet department.

Hmm quite tempted

Although I'm not a fan of 24mth deals i think your right about handset longevity with the GS2..

Devs on XDA appear to have opened their arms to the GS2 with many mods and roms now available so the future looks bright for the GS2...

Great phone, and agree it should still be in the top performers in 2 years.
Altho, there is rumour of the S III around the corner sporting 1.5Ghz or 2Ghz quad core processor. 4.65-inch Super AMOLED III screen. 10 megapix cam etc ... rumour still :-)

There will ALWAYS be something faster 'around the corner'. Technology Manufacturers selling products now, are already developing new products so when you buy the most advanced piece of kit going it is already out of date.

I got this phone on the 12month Talk Mobile deal. The phone (and that's doing this device down, it's a mobile computer), is outstanding. Get one... before the Apple embargo kicks in and stock runs out!

Wouldn't buy anything off Dial-a-phone. I had problems with a phone 2 years ago, a week after I bought it. And they were not reluctant, just plain refused to honour their warranty. Said it was my fault (it wasn't. It was a fault in the phone)
Worst after sales of any of the phone comps, and thats saying something.

This deal is costing you £546 quid in total and you are bound for two years to the same network and same phone. If you go for 12month plan from talkmobile (through mobiles.co.uk which was posted here so many times).. you will get it for a total of £460 (substract £30 if you go through topcashback) and you can go for an upgrade in 12months time or go for a cheaper sim only deal.

I've recently called up phones4u and they offered this phone for £31 (with 600mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet) per month for a vodafone upgrade deal on 18months contract. I personally think its better to wait till iphone5 comes out and then see how the prices of other phones change to compete with it. I am hoping they go down

Agreed but you would be paying the equivalent of £38 per month instead of £22.75 ...

Also, what are you going to do after the 12 months - get another similar deal if you are lucky so over 24 months you would be paying £920 ... I think being stuck with the same phone for two years is worth saving £374 ... I can't see a much better phone coming out in the next 12 months but up to you.

It will come to £19.41 per month for 24 months if you opt for a talkmobile sim after your first 12months (6months plan with £8 per month and with £30.30 cash back for each 6months so effectively you will pay £3 per month for the next 12 months) and retain same phone and also will have an option to upgrade (for people who want to have latest phones all the time, not me though, for example..galaxy s3 is coming soon). As you said..its upto individual to chose the best deal from what is available. We are here after all to provide the details, aren't we?

You seem to be assuming the iPhone5 will be better than the SGSII. It may well be in terms of hardware but it'll still be locked to itunes! It may also turn out that the iPhone5 isn't better than the SGSII and that may mean the price of the iPhone will need to be highly competitive in order to challenge the SGSII. If that is the case and you're comfortable with having an iPhone then waiting may pay dividends but it's all guess work.

Rich, I have the Talk Mobile deal, you're preaching to the converted but what is this £3 a month you talk of?

Well atm talkmobile can end up paying you to take out a 30 day sim...

£30 quidco for a £12 30 day sim lol so you can end up £18 up...

If only they did a deal like this with less texts and more mins. The market is flooded with £30 a month deals for nearly every phone.

If the phone wasn't so expensive id have no qualms just taking a sim only and sim free handset. Nice phone but its up there with tablet pc prices. I think its good to wait a month or 2 more just to see if it drops in price, next year there will be a slew of new phones so you dont want to pay £500/600 and have it drop in price.

Overall the posted deal is okay for the price compared to whats available right now.

are dialaphone any good as my contract ends in 60 days with vodafone and they wont match dailaphones deal

It is a Talk Mobile 6 month contract for £8 a month ... Sim Only ... 300 minutes ... 1,000 inclusive texts ... 500MB mobile internet data included

Currently Quidco and TCB will give you £30 cash back on this so works out to be £3 a month

now £49.99
