I know about the e2save offer with 400mins and 1gb data with TalkMobile but this may be useful if you favour Vodafone. Plus it works out at £445 total if Quidco works which is slightly cheaper and there is less of a fee upfront. Pretty good deal imo!

I know you want me to say it ... but I won't

yes you will

£20 cheaper then e2save, with 100 less min and 500mb less a month, ill take e2save as over a year all that data and min is worth much more then £20

Been keeping an eye on this deal for a while, the upfront fee was £89 a couple of days ago but now it's slightly cheaper I'm gonna go for it. Since the GF is on Vodafone too makes it more appealing for me over the TalkMobile/e2save even if it does have less minutes and mobile internet

Added some heat either way.

Its HOT deal.......
12 Month deals are hot ............

is there no way you can get 1gb a month with a little more payment?

Anyone know if Vodafone have any portal features for viewing minutes, texts and particularly data used per month please? Dumb question I know but I will be using a lot of data and nearly bought a phone with TalkMobile who couldnt offer such an elementary service.

Also, is the 500MB data subject to a fair usage policy or would I be charged for exceeding this - cant find this info anywhere so appreciate a heads up. Thanks.

heres what it says on dialaphone site:

*subject to a fair usage policy of 500MB data allowance per month. On exceeding this allowance, you will be defaulted to the standard £1 per day charge for the rest of the billing month. £1 per day gives you 15MB data allowance per day. Upon using up this daily allowance, the standard charge for data access will apply (£2 per MB). Any unused monthly allowance cannot be rolled over to the next month.

Probably not what you wanted to hear!

Thanks, harsh but I just came across that myself too - had hoped it would eb the same as Vodafone offer on their own plan which is £1 per 100MB - much more generous.

I've emailed Dial-A-Phone to ask this also, but to anyone who has receieved this phone is it SIM unlocked please? Also is the phone itself/phone user interface/packaging etc plastered with Vodafone logos - I plan to revert back to my current provider after the 12 months and dont really want something with Vodafone plastered all over it. Cheers.

As far as I know Phone4U/DialAPhone supply unlocked phones so it should not have 'bloatware'. Vodafone do not have a Portal to view minutes/txts/data usage like O2 does, I believe iPhone has an app which does just that but no Android app.

Next best thing is to use apps to monitor phone usage, I personally use 3G Watchdog app and Call Stats widget (on my Orange San Francisco) which I intend to use when I get my S2.

Similiar apps worth checking out: DroidStats, Netcounter. Personally prefer the two I have mentioned before.

Thanks for the warning. I'll definitely swerve this deal then. Relying on mobile apps to track your data is a huge risk. Many people have been hit with huge data bills after apps didn't record usage correctly. I always want access to the same data the carrier uses to bill us. O2 do it. Three do it. Not sure about Orange? Vodafone can go on the **** list.

Still undecided on which is the better network for these 12 month deals. Talkmobile or Vodafone. TM you get 100more minutes and double data usage. With Vodafone I have prior experience of their CS and they seem to offer decent retention deals once your contract is up...

Joey, I would of thought you could check voda usage by logging onto your online account, but this appears to be around 72hours out of date which is no real use if you're near your quota. Will try having a look at talkmobile..

Agree with Postcard.

I have my finger on the trigger ready to order this phone but the network providers seem cack - I never realised Three were so good! A chat with Talkmobile CS the other day completely put me off - useless and couldnt answer my questions. DialAPhone sounded better although I would need to be able to see my data usage as the fees for exceeding it are extortionate.

Postcard, do you know for a fact that you can sign in to your Vodafone account to check data usage, even if it is out of date or are you just surmizing please? Thanks buddy.

I believe Orange has a Portal AND apps for iPhone and Android. It's hard to believe a provider such as Vodafone does not have such a simple feature.

Agreed - anyone on Vodafone able to comment on whether you can measure your data usage via the full website please?

Who is the actual contract with Dialaphone or Vodaphone?

I am just wondeirng who i contact if i have issues?

So tempted with this deal as then I don't have to worry about the port forwarding in advance and I can grab Quidco on top :0)

Should be hotter in here!

Sorry Andy, I can't confirm. I just had a read through the vodafone forums where users had asked similar questions.

Think I may be pulling the trigger on the TM deal...

This is a great deal - I just signed up for this and rang Vodafone today who upgraded me while I was on the phone to 900 minutes 500 texts and 750MB internet for £40 per month!

Not had a contract through a Broker such as DialAPhone before, the contract itself comes with a direct debit form that looks like it needs to be signed and sent off, yet there is no instruction to do so. Also my Vodafone online account is telling me that my bill is ready, despite me having the phone for less than a week. Help!

I was also curious, rang and asked vodafone about the dd and they said it was set up.

Thanks - yeah called Vodafone too, after trying every menu option of the DialAPhone customer service number and only getting robots. My DD is with them, is set up adn will be pro-ratad so no worries.
