Hi Guys,

I've been looking into this and speaking with the team over at Affordable Mobiles to better understand the history behind these handsets and hopefully provide you with a bit more info surrounding them.

First things first, these are new and genuine stock from Samsung territories in the EU, and will have the full 24 month warranty provided by Samsung.

Reseal Ltd are the company that convert these handsets to UK specification. They are detailed on Samsungs site and are listed by Samsung here.

In order to meet Samsungs specification to do this, the following criteria must be met;

  • to include a sticker on the outside of the modified product which identifies them and explains the changes made to the products;
  • only to include genuine Samsung chargers with the modified products that are labelled to explain they have been inserted by a third party and not Samsung;
  • only to replace the operating software on the product in a way which will ensure software and security updates are applied in the future;
  • to include an English language link to the product guide in the box; and
  • to provide samples of the modified products to Samsung before sale to enable Samsung to check compliance.

As an officially sourced handset, which carries full UK warranty and functions as expected, we have no issue with having these on hotukdeals, but in hindsight, this should have been better communicated from the outset, and moving forward any future posts that contain EU sourced handsets that have undergone a UK market conversion such as this, will be stated in the OP for future reference.

Reading through some of the comments regarding non UK apps, this should not have happened, provided you go through UK setup with a UK sim inserted. I'd ask anyone with issues to please reach out to Affordable Mobiles who will do what they can to ensure you are happy with your order.

Its frustrating when EE cant match or better these deals. Having been a customer since the days of One2One, I cant get anything close to this. I opted for their Smart SIM plan so I could upgrade my handset etc whenever, zero point as you always pay more.

Transfer your number out and back again to get it. With the ability to get a PAC via text nowadays, its a pretty small bit of leg work if your current deal isn't locked in.

I agree, 19 months beyond my renewal date and still using the SIM as the price goes up if I want to go to SIM only and they want more than this for loads less data if I upgrade using my 30% discount. Moving to smarty

One of the best deals around for the S20?

Most certainly In my opinion it hits the data / price sweet spot.
Cheapest s20 deal I’ve seen, last cheapest was £36 couple of months ago
I'm waiting for a repeat of this sort of deal around black Friday.

hotukdeals.com/dea…777

Easily one of the best value deals I've ever taken up. My tired S9 is ready for retirement though and the S20 is what I have my eye on at the moment (unless an amazing OnePlus 8 Pro deal comes along).

Also when your contract ends, you can change it to PAYG. Take out a new contract, as per above deal for example. Then EE will transfer your number from the old PAYG contract over to the new contract. They will just not transfer numbers from Pay Monthly to pay monthly...

Depends how you value the data. Combine the £500 open box deals with a sim and you can have it with say a plus net 8-10gb (uses EE network) for just under the equivalent of 29 a month. Admittedly with the phone price upfront.

To some the £6/£140 for the 50Gb data is worthwhile. Less so if you don't use it/are working from home for the foreseeable.
This is great. Thanks for posting been after a new phone and contract for ages. Ordered. Will delivered on Sunday. Thanks
Only 6.2" screen pah
Is the code only available to use on the EE contracts? Rather go with vodafone as their very me rewards are good value
damianscotland07/08/2020 12:00

Any deals from Vodafone for something like that?

Just got my wife this phone on voda for £35pm with 24gb data and unltd m&t and £80 upfront which was the best I could get through retentions.
This is a good deal imo, if coverage was good in my area I'd be getting this.

I'm in exactly the same boat lol. 2 years passed quickly
Yes very good deal considering the 4G phone retails for £799 at the moment still.. (Samsung store)

I reckon it’s worth it if someone can’t fork out upfront costs or paying the full cost of a mobile. The only issue a lot of people bring up is the software for the s20 slower overheating etc
is this 5G, do they even do a 4G model?
Ordered! Missed the box to apply the code as was using mobile to order. Had to call Affordable Mobiles CS who were brilliant. Cancelled the order and then made it again. Used this company many times over the years and never had a problem.

Yeah they do a 4g model & this is it, I know in 2020 4g what a joke.
link doesnt work for me, anyone else got this?

Your 100% right, if your going to buy a 4g phone then your better off buy the p30 pro this model has google etc & the camera & video is amazing & you can get it for £24 per month with £175 upfront. but theres lots of ways to pay, 2 of family have it and they love it & Ive used it & I think I'm going to buy it.
Is this only for the space grey or has anyone managed to get the blue one with this code please?
Very expensive deal for 4G phone.

50Gb not enough these days, cold
When does this offer expire?

My current EE contract ends at the end of this month. Would rather hold off than have 2 contracts to pay
Looking to upgrade I have always had iPhones and currently have the iPhone XR

Would anyone recommend changing to this? Is it a lot better in comparison to the iPhone XR?

Thanks!
Get this or OnePlus 8pro? It's nearly the same price. Since OnePlus will have AOD. Is it worth extra money
BogEye07/08/2020 15:30

50Gb not enough these days, cold

Surely if you can't find this phone with this much data for this price or cheaper, it makes it hot?

With your logic, if this deal was 1p but you need 100GB, it's not hot as you (not everyone needs 50GB) need more data than this deal provides
