Had a quick look at the "selected samsung products" and couldn't see the phones (mostly tablets) so think you'll only get 1%? Can someone confirm?
  2. Shoi1234's avatar
The list of phones is mad, basically any android or apple phone for for £150 off.
    Alansmithee's avatar
Always keep a couple of £1.50 burners off ebay for this very reason.

5% Topcashback as well for selected Samsung devices from Ao.com - the S23 & Ultras seem to be in the list after clicking through. This is on the amount paid as well, so potentially another £50 (or £40 if ex-VAT) back but not guaranteed for the S23 Ultra.

EDIT: I've had another look and the click through only takes you to a page with variations of S8 tablets, Buds 2 and Watch 5. Playing with the filters brought up the S23s, so they might not be in the deal. Otherwise only 1% back. (edited)

Seems no phones are selected devices

So this is different from the Samsung site trade in process where any "smartphone" is accepted. Therefore you can't buy a cheap Alcatel from Argos for £17. Here you need you're going to need to spend at least £30 on a second hand or refurbished Android phone on ebay? (edited)
    whitman_the_cat's avatar
Should be plenty of old Androids available on eBay for under £10 delivered. Variations of the Samsung Galaxy Ace are worth little these days.

For anybody worried about the "European model: This product was originally put on the market by Samsung in a European country which was not the UK" sticker, don't be. I've had a few phones like this in the past without any issues. The cashback was immediately successful against the S23 I've just bought and, after a quick email to the trade-in centre, the IMEI number has just been validated so I can now process the trade-in. All good!

    8gb ram compared to 12
    P1LwXiLYAFfaj8obkr's avatar
Yeah, The 512gb has 12gb vs 8gb in the 256gb.

Hopefully a similar price drop for the 512gb!

The retailers eligible seem to be more limited compared to previous cashback schemes. Wonder why...

Think the removal of mobile contract resellers is the reason.
  8. Sgoaty's avatar
The phone list on AO says any android. I bought a £6 windows phone from one of your other deals to trade in. Does this mean I can't do that on this link? Also do I buy the phone at full price then do all the trade in/cashback stuff afterwards rather than having to give the IMEI number straight off like with Samsung direct? Thanks
    Robdataff's avatar
A post above said that you can buy a p8 lite faulty for £9.99 on fleabay. It's an android phone, so will be eligible. Sadly the htc would count as "any smartphone', but not as 'any Android' ... I wouldn't risk it for the possibility of losing the cashback.

thank you so much, youve caused me a headache, ive got this coming today, however, i also have an s22 ultra, which as its a uk version, absolute pants battery life, my storage is running empty also ,being on a sim only it gives me the freedom to change, Ive around £600 left to pay on the finance of s22 ultra, ( which isnt a problem as id recoup most selling) the £350 discount is a massive pull.

However is it really much of a phone upgrade, to be paying 650 for a better battery and double storage, please someone sell it to me ???
    Potterified's avatar
Personally, I have had a very positive experience with my S22U 256GB. Absolutely no plans to upgrade until S24U at least, maybe even hold out until the S25U. Paying £600 or even the £400ish some folk had to pay at launch due to the strong deals is too much, in my humble opinion.

Most people think about what you're missing out on by not upgrading. Instead just ask if you truly think your current phone is poor enough to warrant the upgrade!
  11. thedazler's avatar
Very tempted now but not sure on which size to go for. I have big hands but not sure if the ultra will fit in my pocket.
    Habitation's avatar
I made cardboard cutouts of the 3 and decided the ultra would be alright. My phone is in my bag at work and then outside of that I'm mostly in Activewear if I'm honest. I don't envision the screen lasting much longer as it falls out of my pockets multiple times a day I'll be going back to the 'regular' size phones next time
  12. nonooney's avatar
Cracking deal if worked. I notice the reduction (1,249-999=£350), which coincidentally the same as the cash back £200 plus trade in £150 = £350.
    stingergb's avatar
    1249-999=250 not 350.
  13. icstm's avatar
    - any good 256Gb deals on the regular S23?

Is the faster storage/memory noticeable? Not sure I need the extra space, but if the speed will future proof the phone, that is useful as I tend to keep for 4 years. (edited)

No + with any deal? That's a shame. Waiting for a deal to get one for wifey. Base 23 is just pointless.

This trade in offer is not 'any smartphone'

You will need IMEI number and you can select 'any android any condition'. You will get a £1 trade in and a £149 bonus for a faulty phone.

They will check the IMEI and handset so make sure the details tie up before you send in.
  18. mrbumpismyhero's avatar
Thanks OP, went through perks at work site and got the S23 128gb for £749 direct from Samsung. Got £130 trade in on dying S9, and cash back says £150 plus a free set of Buds Pro2. Said at check out I can claim £70 cashback on buds too... So if all cash back pays out thats £399 for the S23 and can sell the buds, bargain!
    nonooney's avatar
Cashback is £100, stated clearly, don't make up story, AI

  20. dave.hannaway's avatar
The trade in is not working for me, it will mot accept the new imei number from the s23 ultra.
Ive emailed tech support, awaiting their response.

    Had anyone had issues ?
    Bil.27's avatar
Yes same. I'm getting same problem on a s23 I just received today. I first did the cashback offer and that worked fine
  21. keanoo's avatar
I received my Z Fold 4 yesterday, I noticed on the box it said
European model: This product was originally put on the market by Samsung in a European country which was not the UK. The product was brought into the UK by Brand Smart Ltd, which has opened the product and replaced the existing firmware on the product with an English version.
I've never seen anything like that before so thought it was a bit odd, took a bit of the sheen off the buying a supposedly brand new product, but I guess this is why AO are discounting them? Was it the same for the other models?

Also having some issues claiming the trade-in offer, IMEI not accepted so in contact with them, could be related? Cashback offer has been accepted though. (edited)
    HughJape's avatar
And don't worry about the trade-in issue. I had this last year with a different phone for my wife. Emailed them, gave them the proof of purchase and IMEI and within 48 hours I was able to enter it and claim the offer. I presume not all IMEI number are registered on their system initially. All good I'm sure

(And the cashback offer was approved pretty much immediately.)

For S23 ultra green and black are OOS but the cream and lavender colours have dropped to £999 before cashback and trade-in, just ordered a cream one for £999 and should be delivered by Monday/Tuesday and it's gonna be down to £640 with trade in and cashback and %1 TCB
    dabear11's avatar
Not on EPP, prices still £1,049 and £1,199
  24. Grumpy_Dumpty's avatar

    This one mentioned here

Its meant to improve the camera or reduce S23 bananagate.

To people who always ask why Samsung offer cash back instead of simply reducing the price by £200…

Just look at some of the gormless responses in this thread, where people can’t even follow simple instructions or click on a link.

  28. chrisuk1's avatar
    No s23 plus
  29. Joe_Biden's avatar
I don't get it , why dont they just lower the price instead of having us claim for CB?
    kappachin0's avatar
Banking on people forgetting to claim, sending in wrong proof, etc, so they can refuse claims. Also, it is bad marketing to lower your products' prices straight up. Higher sales prices also means higher revenue, makes report look better I suppose. (edited)
  30. Paul_Johnsonhel's avatar
Anyone else think the s23 ultra is a big ugly thing? No doubting the specs and it's an amazing phone but prefer s23 size that fits in your hand? Anyone love there standard s23? Thinking of moving back from iphone. (edited)
    Jammer's avatar
I'm on S22 Ultra after switching from a S10 and the size was a big adjustment. Handling it is more difficult one handed, most operations require both hands. Also the sharp corners along with size can make it uncomfortable in front jeans pockets, particularly bending down, putting on shoes etc. Unfortunately Samsung put the best tech in the Ultra models (more ram, more storage, more camera units) and funnily sometimes priced cheaper than the plus models, which make it difficult to pass over for a less model.

Despite that, I think for my next phone I will lean towards a smaller model, maybe s24 plus (although rumours are there will only be standard and ultra models in 2024) as when I occasionally use any other family members smaller devices, it's like a breath of fresh air and feels so natural and easy to use.

Doesn't the trade in have to be direct with Samsung if bought from then, only the cashback offer applies.

Otherwise the trade in offer would be shown on the AO website, because the trade in value needs to be reflected off the upfront price. (edited)
