£20 off the Samsung S3 mini at Phone shop by Sainsbury's - now only £79, which is a good deal for this decent smartphone.

You also get a free Mobile by Sainsbury's sim too, which has low call and text charges (they also do bundles which seem to be good value) - plus double nectar points, which is a bonus.

should add mini to the title

People have told me this phone is awful and the normal s3 is better...is there some kind of fault with the s3 mini?

when you'rethinking about new phones 1st port of call should be gsmarena.com.

use the compare button to see what the difference is (so you can see cameras, RAM, memory, screen resolution etc side by side.

Whenever a phone company adds 'mini' in the title it means it uses inferior parts compared to the full 'normal' model. the s3 mini is very bad compared to an s3 (which isnt that great nowadays tbh anyways).

HOWEVER.... just because it is worse doesnt mean it is bad. for some people the s3 mini will do just fine. it depends how you use it. My girlfriend is still getting by on a galaxy ace 2 on gingerbread.

Sometimes I wonder......

This runs Jeanbean so is susceptible to the WebKit insecurity highlighted last week. This might be overblown but, being as this won't ever get updated again by Samsung, it's worth considering.

Some people seem to like this phone, though the hardware was pretty poor even at launch over two years ago. I'm sure there are better phones for just a little bit more than this.

ive had this phone 2 years a loved it

im selling mine to cex for £70 voucher hopefully.

This phone would be OK if it didn't have the enormous amount of bloatware on it. I got mine through Vodafone and it came with an enormous amount of useless software on it trying to get me to see ads all the time. I don't know what it's like through other providers but I guess something similar.

Also, a tech mate tried to root and install a different rom on the phone for me but it was problematic.

I thought that by buying a well known Samsung phone, I'd be able to find plenty of useful information online as to how to deal with the phone's issues but unfortunately there don't appear to be decent fixes. Android is still in a Beta phase TBH.

How much to unlock? as its probably using Vodafone Network

What makes you think it is unlocked? Can't see anything on website to say it is unlocked, suspect it will be locked.
