Each to their own. Would rather pay less and get the HTC One M8 IMO.

Just come from a Galaxy S4 to the One M8 and build quality and GUI is so much better quality

If it's anything like the s3 and s4, I'll pass. Both had cracked oled screens under the glass front screen from being kept in my pocket.
There are loads of forums with people who had the same problem.

I don't think this is a bad price. Yes the Nexus 5 is under £300 but most lunatics think that the best phones are either Galaxy or Apple's newest ones. These regularly sell in excess of £600 so kudos for posting it. However it is too much for a phone and you will get slated on here.

My S3 is used daily in a work environment and is still mint.....

You must be clumsy.

Wait 14 months and the S17 will be out.......

Is this really worth 2 s4s?

Amazing how the people who can't afford a new phone turn into trolls.

Not sure I'd call it trollism. Yes it may be the least expensive S5 out there, but a phone for £537. It's hard to justify at that price when in a sort time the price will fall and Samsung will release a newer "better" model. So personally I don't think £537 is a HOTDEAL for any phone. But then I am old and I'm sure my priorities are all wrong.

Don't think it's right to vote it cold.

I'd sooner keep my old HTC Desire HD and have a week away with my wife. Or buy a Nexus and settle for a long weekend somewhere.

My friend also had the screen on his S4 crack recently whilst applying a new screen protector, not sure how hard he was pressing though.

Freezing cold. HTC One is far superior than this junk.

Dust resistant?? Nice to know it wont be overwhelmed by dust then. I`ve lost so many phones to this....

And you have a HTC One M8 then do you, or tested them against each other? No? Then that makes you a troll

I haven't played with the S5, but had the S4, and the HTC One M8 build quality is far far better. As Samsung are sticking with building in plastic, I can't see their build quality changing.

Also, the HTC GUI is far less bloated than the S3 and S4 I had before

Don't understand how so many people have problems with cracked screens on the S4. I've had mine for more than a year and I have a cheap case on it which cost £1. I've had it in my pocket with other things and have dropped it a few times and it's still in excellent condition.

Is this the reason to vote cold? I didn't know the site worked like this. Asda seems the cheapest so far, voting hot as people who might want to buy the phone outright will find this useful.

Thanks for posting!

It's a shame only vodafone can sell the gold version!

Failed for me even before release. Why to pay this whole lot of money and it is still with mono-speakers. No stereo speakers on this phone.

why do people pay stupid amounts for these phones especially samsung, I got an s4 when I upgraded my contract and im severly disappointed, had to return three times in 4 months due to faults and the phone feels cheap as hell, will get an xperia or htc next time, they barely ever update them that much so £500+ is a bit much for what is essentially a rehashed s4

After being through the PC gold rush of upgrading in the last decade I am kind of done with buying overpriced new hardware for no real benefit especially as all the games are pants on mobile.

This is a deals site and its a good deal for the S5. I wouldnt personally buy one but thats not the point.
I'm sure the vegetarians on here dont vote every meat product cold.

Or save that for 5 years and buy a car!? what a maniac....

Don't know why people are voting this cold.

You're supposed to be boring in whether this deal is good compared to buying this anywhere else - if I'm someone who wants to buy a s4, I might have considered using hotukdeals to find the best deal available for this phone... Think I'll need to use Google instead - too many wrongly opinionated people voting things cold for personal reasons rather than considering the deal for what it is!

a great shame imo :-(

How is whether a posted deal is hot or not going to stop you from finding a good deal on this site?.I don't use the site like that and tbh I look at all deals regardless of heat because good value is relative to the individual. I don't vote cold personally unless it's blatantly a poor deal such as an £800 iphone on contract with paltry data allowance.

If a good deal gets voted cold then those that ignore cold deals will hopefully leave me a chance to get in

Good find cheers op

Having used a Sony Xperia Z for the last 12 months, I've ordered an S5 and won't go for the HTC One purely because of the fact that not being able to swap the battery if it runs out is a joke. I don't want to have to carry around a battery pack and wait for it to charge again if I can just swap the battery out. I use my phone heavily throughout the day and I'm lucky to get to the evening, so I'll be happy to go back to a Galaxy just for that reason. Now if Oppo confirmed if the Find 7 was coming to these shores, then that phone would probably beat the S5 and HTC One easily...

I'd rather pay for a phone than have to pay £25/30+ per month while tied in to a 24 month contract. I paid £320 for my S4 over a year ago and I spend £12 a month on Giffgaff. If I had gone on a contract it would have cost around £35 per month and I'd still have nearly a year of the contract. Now, I can sell the phone if I wish and put it towards a newer phone.

Can anyone post a cheaper deal please?
It seems people have changed this forum from "hotdeals" to cheap and inexpensive deals
