Good price but I'm happy with my recent purchase

good price, it maybe worth mentioning that they are pretty owned,
I've only mentioned it as a few people commented saying the same on the very similar deal I posted at weekend.

voted hot.

£10 on eBay via unlock code

Does anyone know if a virgin sim will work in the EE/Orange/T mobile version?

Seems a good deal but wonder what the cheapest is for a new Sim Free?

Cheers

i always think these guys are on a winner. There is no vat on these phones as they are classed as second hand. A brand new s5 is £420 on amazon right now, which is £336 ex vat, so technically they are selling them for more than a new one. Its still a good deal for most people, but in a strange way, slightly cheeky....

But the original VAT has already been paid for (_;)

i have a brand new s5 gold unlocked with flip case and glass tempered glass screen protector and a sony z2 with same glass protector and im selling for £350 each.

Went for it. My S3 has served me well.

Thanks for sharing OP.

That's his point. It has already been paid for and so effectively they are charging more for the phone than the true phone cost (ie excl vat) on a brand new unit. Given that they are second hand, they should be selling for less than £336 really.

Bought the unlocked version from Smartfonestore few days ago for 409.99. Then they reduced them to 379.99. Few phone calls, emails and they refunded me £40. A-Grade is pretty much like new. Very happy

SUSPENDED?? - Am guessing he breached some rule on here somewhere, and don't know him from Adam, but seems a tad harsh given his profile, with 90+ deals posted, and 1000+ comments. Hope a bit of common sense prevails here.

Never used Smartfonestore but what's to stop someone upgrading their phone on contract, selling it to smartfonestore, not paying the contract then the network bricking the phone?

they say:

What if my product becomes blocked or blacklisted?
We must stress that this is very unlikely. We work closely with the police and CheckMend, the international database for stolen property. We have systems in place that help to prevent the selling of handsets which are blocked; Before we receive our stock it’s checked, while it’s in stock it’s checked and before it’s dispatched it’s checked. However, we can't guarantee that a handset won’t become blocked in the future. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the second hand mobile phone industry, handsets do sometimes get blocked by the previous owner committing insurance fraud. While this is very rare, we will always guarantee to replace any handset purchased from us which becomes blocked in the future regardless of warranty.

Haha. Its a fair cop. Fell into the good ole 80% trap. I promise to study harder :-)

That's a great incentive to buy from them instead of gambling with eBay.

I totally agree, and it's becoming a problem, they rudely delete posts, i was suspended for making a joke the other day, don't think they understand what context is! what IS a joke is the tactless, and heavy handed way they treat things, a believe most are inexperienced and not up to the job!

anyway, back to this.

has anyone gone for this? phone in good condition? any issues?

Just got it. The phone is in great condition.

Now what sucks is that it doesn't come in original packaging and the official USB 3.0 lead is missing. They've supplied an unbranded Micro Usb cable and no plug.

I'm pretty happy. But I'll be testing out over the next couple of days and see if anything seems dodgy.

You're right. I just checked a unboxing and it doesn't. I assumed it did because of the port on the phone.

Looking at this myself. Can you confirm whether it i a UK model please and was everything included that should have been there?

Do you *know* Samsung will service handsets where you are not the original owner, I only know of Apple, Sony, HTC and Nokia who are indifferent to it; historically Samsung were horrible for warranty repairs and if they had any reason to deny it, like you weren't the original owner or couldn't show a receipt from an approved supplier (which Smartfonestore will not be) they wouldn't carry out the work without a hefty bill.

They are selling them under the second-hand margins scheme, which means their price of £349.99 is including VAT albeit it not in a way that you could reclaim it.
hmrc.gov.uk/vat…htm

People seem to think of VAT as a scheme that no-one really understands, but if you do you can make money off it, which is absolutely untrue - it's a tax, pure and simple. Smartfonestore are not making money off this by reclaiming tax and not charging it onwards, that is fraud.

If you read that properly, I said Apple, Sony, HTC and Nokia are indifferent to servicing your phone if you're not the original owner - they don't seem to mind and will repair it in most cases.

are these the G900F or G900H versions?
