This is VERY tempting. What do you mean DSR returns OP? How do you know?

Good price, but I'd warn people that my 8 week S6 has just completely died on me totally at random. Was just sat with it next to me playing games and checking it every 15-20 mins, as I was receiving constant messages. Went to check it and dead. Was at 60-70% battery before it died, but now it won't charge, turn on or show any signs of life. It was also a pretty buggy phone before it died, with things like icons disappearing, keypad not working correctly etc. Some people have also had the backs peeling off...

DSR = Distance Selling Regulations - basically means if you buy something online or mail order you can return it in an unused state if you dont like it. This information comes from The Smartphone Company website :-

Refurbished handsets are units that have been previously purchased by customers and returned to us under our 14 Day Customer Service Guarantee. These handsets have only been used for a maximum of 14 days and offer a fantastic opportunity to get hold of the latest technology at bargain prices. They’re always in fantastic condition and in most cases 100% as new.

All refurbished handsets are supplied complete with battery and charger. In most cases any additional accessories that are usually provided with the handset such as headphones, etc will also be supplied. Although we can only guarantee that the handset, battery and charger will be included.

As part of the refurbishment process all handsets are fully inspected, tested and reset by our engineers and all refurbished handsets are supplied with full warranty (excluding refurbished iPhones which are supplied with 6 months warranty).

Still under warranty so get it replaced. I know someone with this handset and they love it - no issues

These are £385 brand new for an EU spec model on eBay, so worth considering as that's a decent price for a high end smartphone.

EDIT: And £395 brand new for UK version on Amazon UK. Hadn't realised this phone was under £400 already

Sounds like a faulty unit rather than a model issue as I know a few friends who have it and absolutely love it.

Any opinions of this going lower in the months to come?

The dropping dead issue probably is down to my specific phone. The general usability issues appear to apply to everyone from what I've seen online - although how much they bother you is a different matter I suppose. I personally like being able to turn my mobile data/wifi hotspot on and off quickly, so both icons randomly disappearing is rather annoying for me, whereas I'm sure others wouldn't even notice. Personally I think I'm going to try and cancel my contract and get a different phone that is more polished and problem free.

that's a lot of phone for the money, even smartfone store cant match that, heat!

S5 Brand new is still £320 ish, so I would say this is a very good price - just know that you are still covered by DSR yourself, so if you are not happy with the condition of the unit you can still return it even though its a refurb.

As said, only a few quid more for brand new at Amazon, savings not worth it imo.

Na, previous bloke mentioned it, I wont take credit.

I will never understand why these phones are so expensive. Terrible value for money and they still haven't sorted the battery life out.

Do you mean the toggle icons disappeared? The S6 is to be frank not that great on 5.0.2 Lollipop. 5.1.1 BTU UK is out now. Id definitely flash that if you get this deal, I'm getting to the point where I'm going to do it as EE are useless at bringing out firmware updates. I'll lose WiFi calling though which is an EE only firmware feature.

Bought a Note 4 immaculate condition for this yesterday. Still of the view it's the superior phone of the two.

Good price, hot from me. Had my S6 for a few weeks now and really like it. The key being it's responsive, no waiting for the keyboard to appear, for example. Not suffered with any bugs, other than one which was caused by an app I installed, not the phone itself.

Aye, that's the one. Wouldn't think such a new phone would really need it! EE are useless for firmware updates though, had my last two galaxies with them.

Also a note for people who've had previous Galaxy handsets - this one is a LOT slippier due to the glass back. I've nearly had it go flying off several surfaces I used to put my old phones on no problem (chair arms, my wallet, etc.).

Dirty second hand phones

Definitely don't get one off an Amazon seller. After the bespoke offers faff I had which was fulfilled by an Amazon seller and a non-UK model I ordered one of these which after checking with Samsung turned out to be a Malaysian handset. Stick with known sellers.

Well you can stop with the arguing children cos I cannot see the phone for sale on their web site. The refurbished ones are all on contract now.

Would rather pay more and buy from argos. The new s6+ and s6 edge+ are announced soon along with the note 5

Could buy a new LG G4 for this price

I use a Rinke case and I use an EasyAcc tempered screen protector. The screen protector is brilliant, it has a silicone based adhesive so there's no bubbles at all when applying it.

I still wouldn't want to drop the phone, even with these applied, however it gets around the slippage problem and you can see the phone through the transparent case easily enough. If you have an Edge there's no choice I think as you got the Edge to show off the design. The Edge looks nice but that's it, it's horrible to hold and pick up as I've mentioned before and the screen design serves no useful purpose.

There's pros and cons to the G4 and S6. The S6 is definitely the more powerful/faster phone though.

Good phone but no external memory slot and poor battery.

If i had my upgrade options again i'd go for a cheaper s5 instead.

There was a lot of news online yesterday about Samsung and the S6 - sales not that good apparently.

Methinks that we are about to enter into a price war with these handsets falling in price. Google have dropped the Nexus 6 down. Motorola seem very keen to drop the X price. The LG G4 is already falling rapidly. Looks like Samsung are going to have to join in.

When they get to £300 new they will be about the price they should have been upon release IMPO.

They have tested the market for silly priced phones and the market has said "No!".

399 on Amazon UK for a brand new one. Sold by another seller but fulfilled by Amazon so you have their v.good support if anything goes wrong.

Looking to replace my OnePlus One in the coming months but I'm really not sure what to go for. Note 5 was the frontrunner until the leaks started arriving that it's basically an oversized S6. OnePlus Two is a legit contender, but I've had so many constant bugs with my OPO that it's making the decision tough, hard to tell if those were caused by Cyanogenmod or OnePlus themselves. After 5.0 my OPO is a nightmare, almost daily freezes/unresponsiveness where I have to hard-reset, it's driving me bonkers.

Can't comment on the seller but it's a good price. Their refurbs aren't graded, all you get is "Refurbished handsets are units that have been previously purchased by customers and returned to us under our 14 Day Customer Service Guarantee. These handsets have only been used for a maximum of 14 days". Me, i'd go for a Grade A S5 refurb (£260 'ish) from Smartfonestore or Currys fleabay. The S5 isn't as sexy but microsd, a removable battery and waterproofing are all deal breakers to me.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll get a screen protector for this phone, I've noticed that Gorilla glass 4 seems to be more prone to scratching than 3. Regarding the case...it's nice to be able to protect the phone, but seems a shame now that a galaxy is finally using premium materials to cover it up with plastic imo! The feel of the glass is definitely much nicer than previous galaxy phones and is honestly something I didn't think I'd appreciate as much as I do.

very helpful thanks mate

Hope you guys know you could very possibly get a return that has the pink tint problem on the screen.

Though to be honest, if you're happy to buy others returns to save less than £60 off of buying directly (not dodgy maketplace sellers, even if its fufilled by the rainforest) from Amazon @ £429 brand new, you probably won't be nitpicky enough to notice a tiny bit of pink tint on the screen.

Every review says the S6 is streets ahead of the poor selling S5, microsd is not an issue for most users now the phone as 32GB of suoerfast memory rather than 16GB and now how average users remove the battery need a water resistant phom? For sub £400 these phones are a good price.

£369 here for a new S6 ebay.co.uk/itm…ddd

No sd card slot is disappointing though, especially with the way the price goes up for more memory, £80 to upgrade to 64gb and £160 extra for 120gb!!!
