When I click through to Argos, it's showing as £449, not the claimed £429.

Correct price when added to basket

freezing cold

£429 for me

Is this cheap somewhere else?

It's going to be cold because it's an older phone for fairly big money for an Android device.

Shame about this deal, as my last phone was an S7 (sold on eBay recently for £270) and I've just bought an S8 (absolute one off bargain from someone on Facebook Marketplace!)

It can be found cheaper.

Stupid that this has gone cold. Excellent spec even if a year old, and doubt it's cheaper anywhere else in the UK.

Really hope it works out for you, but sometimes when they are sold cheap like that the seller gets tired of paying their £50 per month contract, and the phone gets killed

True, that could happen.

Although, my S7 was the same thing and I had that for a year.

Pretty much every phone I've bought has been someone else's upgrade. Really comes down to whether you have the ability to judge who you are buying from. I only tend to buy in person.

Best price I've seen for a new S7 Edge. A bit more off (1%) via Quidco. This is still a cracking phone!

Heat from me , seems a good price

Just trying to decide if I keep my pre order for the moto g5s plus

Or pay the extra £130 on this ....

I'd pay the extra for this. The only thing which is better on the Moto is the FP scanner.

cold as the day is looong. better with contract.

Cheaper than the S7 (non-edge) pretty good. I bought the Mrs an S7 from Amazon.de last week for £357 but might have gone for the Edge for another £60 (not that it's much better, it just looks nicer).

Is it worth upgrading to the S8 from the S7? Is there much difference? Just curious as I don't know whether to take the plunge....xx

Is the fingerprint scanner not good on the s7? I'm trying to decide between the g5s plus or a used s7.

I wasn't sure if the extra capacity was just propping up the Edge display, but yeah - an extra hour browsing or playback time is definitely a key advantage. The tests definitely indicate that the bigger battery is worth it.

An excellent price for an excellent phone. Heat added.

The FP scanner on the S7E isn't always on like on other phones. You therefore need to press the FP scanner in, to activate it, which is always slower.

As a One Plus 3 owner, I had a race with a friend who has the S7E, to 10 unlocks. I'd got to 10 and he was still on his fifth........

Even though the FP scanner on the S7E isn't great, everything else on the S7E is far superior for the extra £130.

Great phone, I need to return mine as it's developed the pink line issue which i am hoping has been fixed by now. The camera is amazing and Argos one of the best for customer service as they don't try to fix the phone if there is a problem they just offer your money back or an exchange. I wouldn't hesitate in getting the same model as the S8 is an odd size for me. The only issue i have is that Samsung cheekily download there own software like Samsung pay etc but this was an issue with Sony.

Very difficult to say if I'm honest.

I bought it on more the looks and because a great deal came up.

Its not wildly different, but the screen is amazing!

What a sad life you must have, paying £2-300 more for a contract I don't need doesn't make this a bad deal. The other member was correct, you are a troll

This is a great phone I got it a couple of months ago on contract from mobilephonesdirect. I think this price point for handset only is still a bit too high. My deal is £26 pm x 24 months £624 with £10 cash back = £614 however at the time you we're getting a free gear fit 2 which I sold on eBay for £75. So all in it's £539 over the course of the contract. 4gb pm essential plan on three. If you take the sim as being £10 pm your looking at the cost of the handset coming in at £300. Which to me is not too shabby. Yeah you are tied in but hey on the plus side I had nothing to shell out.

To buy this outright at £429 and then get a £10 pm sim I would be £130 worse off over the 24 months.

I would say hang fire and wait for a better deal to come up.

I've bitten. Was waiting for the price to get below £400 for a brand new handset, but to be honest life is too short, and I wanted it mainly for the camera to snap the kids at play, the longer I wait the more substandard pictures I take on my xiaomi mi max. I've also had good experience with Argos customer services who refunded me the full amount of my wife's old phone 11 months after purchase, no fuss.

Thanks OP

I'm sorry your deal went as cold as I think this is a fair price and a good deal

Picked one up last night and with work discount paid £400
