Outstanding price
Good price
That's a great price, the normal S8 is showing up about the same price on UK Amazon
Be aware of empty boxes 😁.... this has been shared on previous posts from Amazon.it pay with CC
Empty box is a serious issue now, it's down to their poor packaging, shouldn't be sending high value items in paper three fold pack, wrote an email, hope they'll look into it

Amazon Customer Services is excellent for solving issues like this so I wouldn't let this put you off. I received one of the S8's from a while ago and had no issues. To use Samsung services such as Knox, Pay or health (and more), you'll need to flash the UK firmware onto the device.

Well it's better than the plastic outer shipping bag O2 sent mine in.

at least it's sealed, amazon packaging is easy to temper without breaking the seal, hence why delivery drivers are taking advantage of it.

Cant you use these services with the firmware which is already there? Why flash and how did you flash it?

I received S8 from EE, delivered by DPD and bag was opened / box damaged / phone used as well. Depends on delivery driver.. box is still better packaging than bag 🙈
Good luck to whoever decides to chance this. Already shared my experience in a previous thread so won't repeat it here, but the warnings are there from others. Seriously not worth the hassle. You might as well buy one from eglobal central or something, at least they're more likely to turn up!

Nope because it's to do with Samsung Knox, basically you need to get the UK firmware from online, run though a process on Samsung Odin on PC and then it factory resets your device with the UK firmware then everything works fine. My S8 had no issues from ordering to delivery to flashing firmware. If you need help, send me a private message and i'll happily guide you.
I suppose if you purchase from Samsung UK it would be a dual SIM version?

No need doing that, works out of the box just select wipe device to use in sim op country (something like that-button on the right when you power on the phone first time) once you insert UK sim in and start the phone.

Basically what happens then, phone sets its CSC to XEU. You can see in service provider info three CSCs, mine is showing xeu/xeu/itv which means active csc/recommended csc/factory shipped csc (country of origin).

And csc is responsible for stuff like WiFi calling. Mine works perfectly fine on Vodafone.

Nearer the saner £500 point.

Samsung claim their new battery technology is at 95% capacity after 2 years of normal use. Though I bet that excludes gamers taxing the battery hard.

I read on Reddit last night that this is true. Accubattery tells you the battery capacity and many people have had the phone for six months or more now so they are able to calculate the battery wear over two years - Samsung's figures are correct.

In any case, most people agree that you should just use your phone as normal, charge it when you want and to whatever capacity and when you notice that the battery capacity isn't great, buy a new one (insurance excess or £50-70) or it'll be upgrade time by then.

Gaming will drain the battery more but if you are concerned then follow the 40-80% rule. Samsung wouldn't want to damage batteries so I bet the software stops charging before actually hitting 100% - it may state 100 but might be 95 or something. The same could be said for when it automatically turns off at a low percentage. It might report 1% but could be a lot higher.

Enjoy your phone and don't worry about the battery

The problem here is that fast drain and fast charge both stress the battery more.
It is just one of the reasons you have varying cycles life though obviously low quality battery impacts more.

Reasons the Samsung battery lasts is its bigger size and lower power chipset, though obviously the increase in battery quality is a prime reason.

What do you mean by "wipe device"?
Factory reset?
Could you explain the steps please?

Thanks.

If rooted - wipe would completely remove data from partitions and then manually flash firmware.

If not rooted - wipe equals factory reset available from settings menu.

So when I recieve the phone, I should insert an UK sim and do a factory reset?
Then I will be able to use Samsung Pay, WiFi calling (depending on carrier) etc in UK?

When you get the phone, before you power it on, put UK sim in, power on the phone and you'll get message in Italian. I've used Google translate to translate the message so I would recommend doing the same. Basically it says restart the phone and format it to use it on sim country.

Yes, you'll be able to use these services.

List of things for the S8/S8+:

Spigen branded case - highly recommend for any phone.

Anker - Highly recommend for their phone chargers/USB-C cables etc.

Any decent Tempered Glass Screen Protector for the S8+ (check Amazon reviews).

Depends, you won't have the Samsung Services such as Knox and support from Samsung wouldn't really be possible. Plus, depends if you like the Samsung software (not many do) but it's much better now than it was before so i'd personally install a skin and launcher over it

Oh ok, glad you've chosen what suits you best
I would strongly recommend people think twice about ordering this type of item from Amazon. I've ordered an S8 from the UK store and one from the .de store and both have gone "missing" on the day of delivery between the depot and my delivery address. The cost of the first one has been refunded but Amazon are currently investigating the 2nd one as yesterday it was listed as being delivered when actually nothing of the sort happened. Was at home all day and the delivery driver never came near my house. Now it's my word against Amazon's.

Use caution!

I know sometimes Amazon does not require signature when collecting the parcel.
However, I assume for a high value product (certainly something £500+), Amazon should have required signature for proof of delivery?

My thoughts exactly. I've asked Amazon for the delivery records from the courier hoping there is a signature from someone that I can prove is not mine.

What I found suspicious was at 17:45 yesterday afternoon the tracker said a delivery had been attempted (which it hadn't) and another attempt would be made the following day. But then at 20:00 that same evening the update was that it had been handed to the resident. I definitely don't have it, neither do any neighbours.
I ordered one from Amazon Italy 3 months ago, same packaging as someone posted above, phone was nicked from the box, I got some headphones and a type C cable.

Sent Amazon Italy an email, gave them some packaging feed back. New phone sent out to me same day, was delivered 4 days later, no questions asked.
Hi there, I've bought the s8 on Amazon.it for €588.71 shipped to Ireland, fingers crossed it will arrive intact.

I noticed in the description this is the Italian version also the wireless technology is listed as just LTE not LTE/4G. Is this a problem - will I be able to use this in Ireland? Looking online LTE just seems to be a version of 4G.

Thanks.

The LTE/4G terms are usually interchangeably referred in descriptions. Like you said, they both refer to 4G signal.
I think the Italy version, is the EU version G955F which will be the same as UK version in terms of specification.

If you search the model, then you can find what band spectrum it supports and compare it against the network carrier you use in Ireland. In most cases, it'll work fine.
