Shame about the network....
yuk filthy network samung through and through but voting cold because of voda sorry
I thought the S8 would have beed today's hottest deal but evidently it was a phone made by some company called Motorola.

You're not going to believe this but it can ring, text and email people. It can browse the internet and it will even take photos with it's 13mp camera. Even has a fingerprint scanner. Price......£139.99

So I am thinking that everyone who was going to vote just once with some heat today in the mobile category has given their heat to the Moto G 5 and that's why all S8 and most of S7 deals are cold lol. But then the main reason could be that Motorola are pitching their products reasonably priced where Samsung and Apple are just taking the p. You can't tell me that there is an extra £500.00 of technology in the S8 or any other phone for that matter.

it's a free market you buy what you want. I spend more time on my phone than doing anything else every day so I would rather invest in a phone that had the best screen/processor/camera etc. I see your point though. There's no need to buy an s8 if all your doing is calling and texting

I bought my wife a moto G a few years back now. She been using my old S2 galaxy and it's surprising how things move on in a couple of years. The Moto G was actually a better phone than the 3 year old S2. She then got my old S4 when I changed phones in June 2015 and giving her the S4 made her realise how, let's say, not so good the Moto G was. As you can see I have had a few Samsung phones with no complaints. Current model pricing though seems to exploiting us quite a bit. I personally wouldn't be buying the Moto G5 but my point is really the extra £500.00 worth of technology. Now Lenovo own Motorola it will be interesting to see where they go.

Yes, I know what you mean. I enjoy my tech even though perhaps a basic user where smartphones are concerned but that's only as I work at a pc all day and when I get home I am on the tablet or laptop but I do appreciate quality, performance etc. Pricing though is my main issue as phones now are becoming more of a luxury. It is a luxury though I can justify but will be waiting until the S7 Edge comes down and trade up my LG G4. I also see your point too which is no different from someone wanting a higher end spec laptop for gaming etc.

I doubt the S8 is any faster at day to day tasks than any phone with the SD820/821 processor, like the OP3/3T etc, Samsung really are taking the p with the price set for the S8 given it's hardly that much of an improvement on the S7.

nice reply smart makes total sense.sold my s7 edge in preperation for the s8 release amazing phone and to be honest unless i get an amazing deal i will be getting another s7 i can pick one up for around 300 and to me theres never a 500 pound seing performance wise between the s8 pro and the s7 edge.i may get 10% extra i wont be held to ransom from samsung.the prices get better or im not buying one simple as
Topper1900

thats what ive just posted topper i sold my s7 edge because i knew that the prices would drop a further 10-15% once the s8 was released.however from the s8 pro to the s7 edge i may get 10% performance increase and that doesnt equate to about a 400 pound swing.i think i will buy another s7/s7 edge unless the s8 prices drop considerably

I would. Saw S8 in EE today. I sold my S7 Edge because hated Samsung bloatware but I do believe it's a nicer looking phone. The aspect ratio of the S8 just makes it look weird!

I take it that you've had your hands on a Galaxy S8 then?
These threads are funny. Anyway, this is a really great deal. MPD cashback process is simple and takes 5 mins every few months. The S8 is expensive, what did you expect? The S7 was £600+ on release as well. Early adopters pay more, it's always the case.

Not yet. My post was a little tongue in cheek and doubt if the Moto G5 would ever be on my shopping list. It's just funny to think the Moto G5 was yesterday's hottest deal just a day or so after the launch of the S8. My point really is that the spec of the Moto is possibly were Samsung were a few years back. Unfortunately Samsung's determination to corner Apple's market has come at a price. Personally I don't think either are worth the price they are charging and it was the same with the S6. It was just a bit more than I wanted to pay for a phone as I am only a light user so went for the LG G4 instead. Similar spec to the S6 and has served me well. I can even take my memory card out and install a new battery lol. Hey if you use a phone a lot and can justify the cost then go for it. Samsung are a good phone. Hopefully I will find a decent deal on an S7 Edge but chances are with all the cold the S8 is getting, the S7 Edge price is not coming down soon. I can wait, LG G6 out soon.

I actually agree regarding prices, it's crazy town. I was at the S8 launch, it is a nice phone. Like you though, I'm waiting for the G6 to launch.
