After 2 years following the Samsung Note 5, they come up with a slightly more fancy display and more or less same specs?! 3000 mah battery, 4GB RAM are not flagship specs... Sorry, at £669 is 2x the price of S7 Edge or Note 5 currently on the market and there simply isn't 2x the specs... It does look fabulous, but the novelty wears off pretty quick... a dedicated button for Bixby, which let's face it - no one will really use...

all over it the most heat i can offer

My 6p is looking a better and better flagship

I watched the launch of this phone and they said it would come in 5 colours, yet we are only getting a choice of 2,I'm guessing we aren't good enough to have the other 3,just like we weren't good enough to get the note 5,but I bet America gets them all,AND at a cheaper price.

yup makes me puke

If you are going to spend this much on an android phone you will probably want better specs, you'd be best checking this out, double the specs for a lower price , oh and first phone with 8gb RAM ! asus.com/Pho…KL/ The Samsung Ship has sailed (off the edge)

Genuine question - is the S7 Edge available at £335? If so, I'm buying it.

£579.66 for S8 and £676.27 for S8+ Verizon Wireless prices...

They have to be kidding, £670 for an android phone with fairly ordinary features? Sorry but I can't see the point of these 'flagship' phones. After a week or so they are just 'the phone' and, if you keep it 2 years and need a reasonable amount of data you'll have spent 4 foreign holidays on it, I know which I'd prefer.

821 vs 835 processor... on what planet is a 27% reduction in performance considered 'double the specs'.

Jeez......as usual the thread is brought down by people who have zero interest in the product. Bored much?

The s7 Edge link that was 'half the price' of this which is second hand. This is a brand new phone. It is like saying you can get a car for half the price of a new model....yes you can but it won't be new.

Edited by: "jrw" 29th Mar

Looks good but have to vote cold, the S7/S7 Edge notched up the pricing of the previous gen but now the S8 will be more expensive than the S7 Edge was at launch! In the end I paid the extra to get the S7 Edge last year but I doubt I'll be getting an S9 when it comes out year, it'll be nearly £900 at this rate!

Tech should be getting cheaper not going up esp when the pace of change is slowing.

i would never buy s7 or s8 2nd hand... can you guarantee that its still water resistant? i bought s7edge from Argos Ebay manufacturer refurbished... back fell off after one day... which means it wasn't manufacturer refurbished and still water-resistand. Buy brand new & dont risk your phone.

Bored much you say

I sat through 15 minutes of live waffle before the phone was actually revealed, now that was what you call boring.

I wouldn't have done that if I wasn't interested.

That's not a bad price actually, considering the S7 Edge is still over £500 retail.
I've still got a sealed one, might sell it and go for one of these instead.

Are the specs (other than screen size, obvs) the same on both the S8 and S8+?

... Ignore that question, they are. I'm so getting one.

you're comparing the price of the S8 brand new with the price of a 2nd hand S7 edge.

in other news, a brand new car is more expensive than a used one

Kinda relative to the extra demands of the larger screen I guess... just watched the launch event, they look awesome.

I read recently that the millions of Note 7's that were recalled are being refurbished and sold off by Samsung to avoid the ecological waste of just landfilling them. Might be some good deals on those coming up.

No timeline though as apparently it needs to get past individual regulators in each market.

0.4" difference in screen size doesn't match the big 500mah jump. The S8+ should have a better battery life.

£669 for a phone? Seriously?

Going by how the S7 and S7 Edge turned out, you will get a fair bump up in battery life, but since the S8 and S8+ isn't out yet, I can't say it will be true this time though, maybe wait a bit to see the reviews.
