Looks good to me.

What contract were you on prior to this?

And did you ask about the S8 Plus at all?

How close to the end of your current contract were you?

Original Poster

my contract runs out on the 24th of november

i asked about the 8+ and they said the phone wasn't free. when asking make sure you tell them ( there is another system that wipes the phone handset cost off thats what they told me they have 2 systems that lets them apply discount

You contract ends on black Friday I'd wait

good offer, I've been told I will only get a decent retention offer when I put in my cancellation notice, which is 30 days before contract ends (my 2015 Black Friday S6 24 month deal ends 8th December, so can only put in my notice from 8th November).

Are you also getting the BT TV APP for sport etc? some deals are offering that for length of contract.

I'm going to see what they offer and then see what deals are on Black Friday.

Did EE contact you, or did you contact them? when I was put through to cancellations they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee, so best I wait till 30 days before end of contract, by you dates you are still not within last 30 days, so surprised they offered a deal at retentions.

Sorry this is the right link

Ask for your pak code. They will asking you why you want to leave and look at offers if you don't get want you want phone back in 10 days or something or wait for phone call. And I phoned them

I couldn't ever imagine paying this, I'm on pay as you go, with a phone that cost me £30 and I put on £20 this year so far. Then again i don't have a job, or any friends so wouldn't need it

How is it £744? Isn't it £767.76 (31.99x24) in total? I got the same deal back in August through retention and recently increased my data to 25GB from 15GB for an additional £3 a month. Also if you have Halifax account, you get £50 cashback for taking out an EE contract. So even better deal :):)

I'm dumfounded ... do people really pay this amount for a contract and not realise the phone cost is in there ... (shakin head )

The way I see it data bit costs about £15 a month anyway especially with MAX plan where roaming in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia plus Europe is free. So that leaves the phone costing about £400. On top of this, if you have a halifax account and set up DD with them, you get £50 cashback. So £350 for a high end flagship Samsung phone and the payment is over 24 months.

I just chopped in my battered s5 with Samsung direct, (got £135 for it) I then got interest free credit over 24 months at £19 ... something per month over 24 months (about £533 ) plus the VR + remote I'm on a sim only with o2, £8 per month (been with them since they where BT celnet) I play on this every new contract... the op has found a good deal, but I don't have the hassle of change this n that
Edited by: "psmith1958" 17th Oct

I had the s8 + free £47.99 a month, 40gb data, free bt sports for 24 months and unlimited texts&mins

Just come off the phone to EE they said deal does not exist they said cheapest was 37.99 and I referenced the deal and quotes from this site. Can the op prove the deal as I am an existing out of contract customer so match all the criteria thanks

I'm getting quoted £37.99 a month with an upfront cost for exactly the same thing, they're refusing to budge. Was there any price matching of deal with another provider?

Anyone else managed to get this deal?

I'll send you my number to reference when i get my phone

was there any upfront payment on this?

closest i can get is £37.99, 15gb but with no VR headset?

took my PAK code anyway so will have a look round for a new deal anyway.

I'm getting quoted £37.99 too. Person i'm speaking too is suggesting you must have had a discount on your account (i.e the £6pm) which most of us don't appear to have. Maybe something for being so close to the end of your current deal?

I got a similar deal £31.99, free phone, free vr headset but only 8gb data, went for it as 8gb for me is plenty

can you plz give me your number so that i can to ian rober..thanks

What was the voucher code for £135 off £32 a month 02 this week?

has anyone had any joy with this ian robinson guy? the people quoted 37.99 did they offer you the Free VR?

Quoted 37.99 as well. The free VR and controller is through the main Samsung website and not EE.

Spoke to Ian Robertson today. He called me back. I mentioned this deal, he started at saying 37.99 but then said he could he could do it for 32.99 for the above deal.

Was not able to move my historical 10GB data boost onto this new deal, so I'm staying as I am and will wait for handset to come down. I've got a JL price match already approved for 589 but am

I'm on a sim only 30gb max plan, with 10GB data boost and pay 21 p/m. So 40gb for me on a max plan works out ok for me.

Thanks OP, got the deal in the end via ian robinson.

£32,free S8, 15gb, free vr headset and bt sports for 24 months.

thanks.
