It depends on the components of the phone as most of it is 2 years, but they're a few parts that are 12 months only.

Thinking of buying a decent phone as Nexus 4 is sadly on its way out...:(

so This or pixel 2?

This if you want a decent Camera. Nokia 8 if you're not bothered

Can be slow. Both are on the same, Android 7 (which isn't the latest)

Thx, How does the pixel camera compare, I realise its class leading but is s8 far behind?

Not that far. The S8 is brilliant in low light and i've been extremely impressed. Not used the Pixel 2 directly to compare.I would guess the S8 is better in parts than the pixel 2 and vice versa.
Pixel 2 seems to pip it as far as Dx0Mark are concerned

I would go Pixel 2. Really not enjoying the S8 and as the camera is one of the important things for me - the S8 has turned out to be a bit of a let down.

Pixel 2, no headphone jack also

Just got my brothet S8 on O2 but could not beleive amount of bloateare. Unrecognizable as Android 7. I always buy native Google phones and am glad of it. Always have latest unadulterated os.

I was dead set on a galaxy s8, but there are so many new phones coming out in the next 3 months I'm thinking of sticking it out with my oneplus one a while longer, want to see how the new Snapdragon 845 phones turn out

I like their memory spec:
Memory
  • RAM_Size (GB) 4GB
  • ROM Size (GB) 64 GB
  • Available Memory (GB)* 52.3 GB

I have this phone and it's brilliant

Just got the Pixel 2 and it runs the latest Android (Oreo) and is great.

You can uninstall a lot of the stock apps. Once Samsung Experience 9 comes out with Android 8 - it is a lot smoother.

Much better than they used to be. Pretty regular with the monthly security updates and Android 8 will be out soon.

The Xiaomi mi mix 2

On amazon.de 569 but Euro :P They ship to UK and you will have 2 years warranty in entire EU :P

Link

The camera is an important factor for me and I'm sure others, plus being on the latest OS for 1-2 more years matters. So will plum for the pixel, shame they are not as affordable but most if you like branded makes are 500+

The screen is a work of art. However it feels a few millimetres too narrow.

Got mine from Amazon Italy all in £505

*worth having for any phone.*

I'm about to recycle my S8 to Carphone Warehouse as I've decided to keep the Nokia 8. Prefer the overall speed and feel of it. S8 is nice hardware but I just don't enjoy using it as much as I can't get on with the biometrics and the screen feels a lot smaller.

I don't think you'll dislike either though. There are still some nice things about the S8.

bought mine in Germany in Sept. for 420 EUR /ca. 370 GBP. 2y warranty as standard.
paying 570 GBP now? no, thanks

I bought 3 phones for £549 each from JL who matched the price in box.co.uk.

Bought one at 530 a month ago, cracking phone, by far the best screen quality i have had on a phone

new? from retailer? not grey market? link?

Its only £471.99 on tobydeals.com

Oneplus 5T, it's a beauty.

I got a great deal for S8 from Vodafone which works out to be £668 over 2 years including the phone and line rental. I hate how narrow the phone is and the 18.5 : 9 ratio. If you want to take photos and use the whole screen it's less than 8 mega pixels which I hate. I had a Galaxy note 4 before and loved the size of the screen. I may return the S8

I think you’ve just convinced me to buy it especially as it looks like it’s £375 (or £325 if quidco tracks properly).

Do you mind answering a couple of questions - can the glance screen be switched off but when notifications come can the screen be set to switch on? And how are you finding the battery?

What are you on about?

Most Samsung devices come with 2 year manufacturers warranty. If there's an issue with it, you take it to the Samsung repair centre and they book it in for repair!
