Tempted until you mentioned 4GB plan. It's like having a Porsche but not being allowed to go more than 30mph on it! Plus not to mention Voda's abysmal customer service - especially when you're trying to leave them! I've got a line on my credit report showing a voda contract from over 5 years ago but whenever I call them to close it off, they claim not to have a record of me!

Yikes!
Vodafone has been just fine for millions of consumers, so may be you few are the unlucky ones. 4GB is good enough for loads of people as well. So no point saying things like that which are not based on facts. And btw, S8 is not the Porsche

I think judging by how much far down the sub zero this deal is becoming I think I'm not the only one who begs to differ with regards to the "millions" of happy Voda customers! Oh and by the way using Porsche was just an analogy, not to be taken literally!

Again, I beg to differ. Believe me if this was an EE deal, even at 4GB it will get much less cold than this. If you go back and search previous posts about Voda deals, you'll quite clearly see the majority of negative feedback about their customer service. Check trustpilot out too!
Ive never used over 3GB, so 4GB would be plenty enough for me. Im the opposite, I dont get how people use so much data when you pay for broadband at home. Its like paying for bottled water when you can get water from the tap at home.

Got Samsung S9 for £21.25 (after the VEA discount) £200 upfront from Vodafone with Unlimited Calls, Texts, and 16 GB data. Hence, this is cold for me

You have answered your own question "pay for Broadband at home". Mobiles are used on the move? So if you use Spotify or watch a movie whilst waiting for a train/flight/appointment etc; you can easily get though 4GB on your phone. How exactly is your home broadband going to be of any use at that point when you are stuck waiting for something and want to waste some time perusing some multimedia?

Vodafone are awful. They nearly wrecked my credit score 10 years ago by posting some one else's default charges on there. Last year I forgave them and got another contract with them. Thought they might have improved over the 10 year period. Nope, not a chance. They couldnt get a direct debit set up on my account. Kept sending me late payment notices. The Indian CS agent couldnt understand that Vodafone have to set up a direct debit and not my bank. He suggested I had no money in my bank account and nearly called me a liar; till I swore at him and asked to be put through to their disconnection team. Took around 20 phone calls before they managed to set up a direct debit on my account. I mean how much incompetent can you get?

I have used Three, EE and O2. None of them have demonstrated one hundredth of the incompetence and idiocy that Vodafone have consistently demonstrated. Never ever again!

I voted cold because this is just a crap deal. I am with Vodafone and have no real issues with them.
Anybody got any better links to deals for the s8?

You obviously don't get out much! Fight the shackles of WiFi and get out for some fresh air!

If you start talking about getting fresh air and going out more, first leave the phone at peace rather than constantly using it while out and about and having fresh air

Whats the point of going out more if you are stuck on your phone and using data

I always download my music to a playlist before I leave the house, meaning its not using loads of data. I dont really tend to use my phone much when I'm out/at work, so I dont have the time to even think about streaming films etc. Hence why I never use more than 3GB and broadband is more valuable to me. If my mobile operator still did lower data packages at a more reasonable price then Id happily go for it.

Lol Im out every day? How do you think I pay for these rip off phone contracts?
Still lots of people voting cold, but no ones willing to post a link for the S8 cheaper anywhere else?? And if you have free WiFi at home and work 4GB is more than enough for lots of people

In a similar vein, I dont have the time to download music, organise it into playlists etc. I use spotify or google play music. My play lists are on there. Shared with my phone and wifi devices at home. For eg: 3 google homes, Yammy soundbar and 2 Sonos one's. With a family plan; everything is accessible to all my family members.

Also whilst travelling around on weekends etc with my family, we use the mobile data allowance to keep the kids quiet in the back of the car watching cartoons etc. So a lot of mobile data use for us that home broadband cant help with or will require a lot a planning and time for.

With regards to price; I have the three 30GB data deal with unlimited minutes for £12 pm. I think that is cheap enough. Got my S8+ from amazon.it for £460. total cost over 2 years £700 with no data restriction, Vodafone's incompetence or being locked to any network.

The line rental they offered me on a 2 year contract was £25/month, so £25-15%=£21.25/month.

I also get VEA but when I called Voda they wouldn't get anywhere close to that. Were you right at the end of a contract or asking for a PAC code? Was there a certain department or trick?

I always use Vodafone chat, and yes was asking for a PAC code, always does the trick tbh
