Not that great. A quick Google and I'd found this (which still isn't great at all) at 1252.99 over 24 months. Same tariff as this you've posted so nearly £10pm cheaper.

A week ago, you could get a free phone on vodafone with unlimited mins and texts with around 20gb data for £42 a month. Which is around 200 cheaper again. (Nearly 500 cheaper than your deal).

That link is nowhere near as good a contract and this is for 3 only not another provider.

That link, go to page 4. Last deal. With three.. (Same contract). £10pm cheaper than the deal you got.

I am talking about a unlimited contract max everything apart from 30gb tethering if you wanted to stay with 3. which I do. not recontracted through a 3rd party lose your loyalty.

£1500 for a phone contract for 2 years?
What colour is your gulfstream?

Fun aside sounds very expensive deal to me. High price for 30gb tethering data.

nothing comes close to that deal on that link you posted.. they are all essential plans not advanced, recontracted through a 3rd party.

Loyalty? New customers get it £10pm cheaper. Where's the loyalty in that?

You pay more so deal hunters don't have too. Lol.

i agree its cold ive just got contract with ee which is only for the 8 but stacks up much better.cold for me sorry op

what deal did you get if you don't mind me asking? Been back and forth with ee retentions...

Original Poster

Basically I recontracted at £60 pm 30gb data unlimited minutes and unlimited texts on a 3 advanced plan. NO upfront cost. for the s8+

Then I upgraded my price plan through 3 website too unlimited data unlimited minutes and unlimited texts on a 3 advanced plan.

for £63

Because I had already recontracted I still don't pay any cost for the phone.

An extra £3 quid for unlimited phone data.

when the equivalent Retentions deal at the time for me Final final offer put the phone down think about it.

you could not get this phone on for free on unlimited data, unlimited texts, 30gb tethering

for £63 no cost.

but hey if if you have well done

yes you can get a better deal on essential plan. but I travel alot and need feel at home.

also I did not want to recontract trough a 3rd party.

I've searched Google and I can't find a deal anywhere near as good as that for the equivalent contract. if you recontracted through 3 and not a 3rd party.

of course you can get the phone cheaper elsewhere. that is a given just maybe not with all the extras. but alot changes in a couple of weeks. so could be more competitive pricing than what I got.

feel free to post a link to an upgrade through 3 not through a 3rd party for a free Samsung galaxy s8+ advanced plan with feel at home unlimited minutes unlimited data 30gb thethering no upfront cost for £63 monthly. Not bothered about any other network or a cheaper deal with less data from a 3rd party. post a link which matches this comment . these parameters Not one person has posted any links but all complained alot. the above web link is not the deal.

Expensive, awful deal.

Original Poster

I have removed the link. because that was not the deal.

And you joined today just to post this........ three must be getting desperate

How did you get this contract.?
My upgrade offers are nowhere near as good as this through three retentions for this contract I have to pay an up front cost. I use alot of data. why is this voted cold.

If you could get three to wave the upfront cost of 99 pound you could get the unltd mins and texts and 12gb of data for £50 a month then you could put the all you can eat data add-on for a extra £5 a month. Total of £55 a month with no upfront cost. THATS IF you can get the upfront cost removed. In theory all they have done for you is add the cost to the monthly price and still you're paying more.

I tried they would not remove the upfront cost :(. problem is that there is little movement because their plans are better than others. is that an advanced plan the £50 12gb. the closest to what I want is £60 a month 30gb with free phone. The unlimited plans start with a up front cost. And I want the phone for free even then without the upfront cost his monthly payment is still slightly cheaper than my best upgrade offer for the same contract. Thats why I was looking at this offer. 3 has the best coverage in my area. I have 4g all the time and tether and use it alot.

Yeah that's an advanced plan, with the 12 and 30gb advanced plans you can add an add-on to get unlimited data anything less than 12gb and I think you need to add 2 add-ons. I'm currently looking for a new plan and am deciding between the s8 and s7. You can get the s7 with 30gb of data for 30quid no up from cost but it's on a essential tariff and you can't upgrade to all you can eat data with just one add-on. Just waiting a little as the s8 doesn't seem to much of a jump from the s7 for the addition cost per month.I did get them to take off the upfront cost but all they did was add it onto the monthly cost.

Original Poster

All I did was upgrade on that £60 a month contract you mentioned, so I got the phone for free and then I logged in today and saw I could change price plan for £3 extra a month have unlimited data. so that meant my tethering would not use my 30gb allowance that was the kicker for me because I had unlimited now. And the monthly payment was cheaper than if I had paid a little for the phone. so I thought it was a good deal. I'm not interested in other contracts or networks, I wanted this exact contract and benefits.. so it was happy days for me. on the £60 a month deal free phone I worked out that if I bought the phone outright. and paid for a sim only deal for the same tariff it only was like £20 or £30 cheaper over the life of the contract. so I went ahead with this. I use alot of everything too hope you get the right deal for you.

This is only for the s8+ I have big hands that's why it's a bit more monthly too.

Tbh threes upgrades have gone absoloutly garbage to what they use to offer. I had a decent plan for them to try and match (ee) and they wouldn't get anywhere near it. I was trying to get them to match an ee 15gb plan on the s8 with the 12gb plan they have (ee plan with a 30% friends and family discount) and they got nowhere near trying to push 8 gb plans for a higher cost.

The deal I was referring to trying to wave the 99 upfront cost would be for the s8+. Not paying a upfront cost has actually cost you more in the long run.

Yes the s7 is alot cheaper it makes you think about the money. I wanted the bigger screen because I have kids and can put video's on it to keep them busy. Ive always been a year behind with phones and wanted to upto date one too.

I will look into doing this. But also the s7 thanks morty1984

yeah your right used to be great now they are worse every time I upgrade. I upgraded from the note 4. I had all you can eat everything for £37. now to get the same plan it's alot more. but the phone is new and expensive I suppose. maybe should have done the s7 too

If you can get them to spread the upfront cost over the contract like they seem to have done with the op, you could get the 12gb plan for 55pm (upfront cost added on to tariff) then add the unlimited data (£5 a month) making it £60 a month, £3 cheaper a month that the op deal. That's if your willing to pay that a month.

yeah but does the 12g tariff come with 30b tethering. I'm willing to pay a bit more because our home wifi is rubbish and often use the tethering for home?

It does once you add the all you can eat data add-on to it.

Original Poster

having the 55 per month 12gb plan upgrading it to unlimited data making it 60 monthly. would I need to add on more tethering to make it the same as this.

Original Poster

will take a look. thanks for the info. I probably can still change things around I will see if it comes out cheaper.

Original Poster

what I think was they wouldn't take off the cost at the time. then it made the 60 deal better then adding unlimited for an extra 3 worked out better. but it's marginal.

Original Poster

I remember messing with it all night with the 12gb plan and speaking to them on the phone retentions etc. trying to get a bit back through top cashback but no offers for upgrades had to settle on the 60..
