Samsung Galaxy S8 with Gear VR + Controller - £533 when you trade in iphone 4/Samsung S3 or newer

Found 5th Oct
Samsung S8 at £689 less a trade in value of £156. Total amount payable is £533 spread across a 24 month term at an interest rate of 0% p.a. (fixed) equating to monthly payments of £19.99 and an initial deposit of £53.30. 0% APR representative.

Good if you have an old phone in a drawer - I had an S3. Also eligible to claim the free gear vr and controller.

Trade in offer ends on the 8th though so be quick.

I couldn't find any way to actually buy the handset outright so took the finance of 0%.

2017-08.samsungpromotions.claims/gb/…rms

offer extended to 15th October

Back again including Note 8!!!

yes:

Trade-in criteriaMust be able to power upMust be an Galaxy S3 or newerMust not be a blacklisted device **

Absolutely gutted I sold my S4 for £40 a couple of weeks ago! Have some heat though.

This deal is NOT eligible for the free VR - you HAVE to buy from the retailers listed below. I am on the phone to Samsung now to hopefully get them to change their T&Cs.

The following network providers and retailers:
Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Carphone Warehouse (UK and Ireland), EE, Eir, John Lewis, Littlewoods (UK and Ireland), O2, Tesco (UK and Ireland), Three (UK and Ireland), Virgin Mobile, Very, Vodafone (Ireland only)

It says claim a gear vr controller all the way through - this is on the Samsung shop - I think they will accept claims with this evidence.

Must be purchased from a Samsung shop? Does that mean we can't do it online then?

This isn't with Gear VR + Controller. I can get it with the VR+controller for £575 from John Lewis (they've price matched with box.co.uk after I sent a request).

The full T&C's actually state:

The following network providers and retailers: Amazon.co.uk, AO.com, Argos, Carphone Warehouse (UK and Ireland), EE, Eir, Giffgaff, John Lewis, Littlewoods (UK and Ireland), Mobile Phones Direct, O2, Three (UK and Ireland), Virgin Mobile, Very, Vodafone (Ireland only) plus selected business and enterprise resellers, solutions providers and network operators. Participants must check with their reseller, solutions provider or network operator to establish whether they are a Participating Retailer before purchase.

So there is flexibility -the fact it tells you that you can get one all the way through to purchase on the Samsung website makes me think claims that come from Samsung will be honoured.

The vr is included sales rep on phone confirmed just now

Do you guys reckon the screen can be broken on trade in phone?

£156 is the maximum trade in value?

It's the only trade in value so brilliant if you are trading in an S3/S4.

Yes

It clearly states what the conditions are and a busted screen doesn't matter.

Ah right. Put in my iPhone 7 128GB as the trade in. Wondered why it was so low. Now I know.

They'll take any old trade in at £533 a sale.

Has anyone received confirmation? I've got my credit agreement and deposit taken but no emails from samsung

The finance company that deals with this are a nightmare, have tried to get this deal 3 times, each time I pass the credit check, they take the deposit then don’t here anything for 3 days then get an email saying the application is cancelled without any reason.

How do you get the offer to trade in your iPhone 4? I only see the Samsung range

Did the order confirmation mention anything about the free VR headset?

so do you go into argos (for example) and do your trade there, or do you do it online?

No mention of headset, however you claim it later after you have taken delivery of the phone.

Bleh, I got my S8+ on launch from Three and I didn't get any free VR. Anyway have some heat.

I'm on benefits and got approval

Price of flagship phones makes me sad.

I swapped my old iphone 4 for this offer and got the S8 + VR device with it for free. Being a switcher from iphone to samsung, it not that big difference tbh. Samsung equally good, at least i dont have to pay the iphone premium.

Gear VR is great.

Any luck here?

So does anyone know if you're eligible for the free Gear VR headset if you buy this direct from Samsung using the trade in offer?

It's f*****g Paypal credit there is no way you will get it. I have 950 credit rating and got refused a year ago now I will never try them again to reduce my numbers only
